Caleb Williams recently did a live Q&A session in the comment section of a @recruitingtoday Instagram post. I'll be posting his answers that are relevant to LSU and his recruitment here as they are revealed. Don't judge the grammatical mistakes or spelling errors, I'm typing it as I see it.

[Questions are asked by anyone and everyone that take the time to post a comment, answers are obviously by Caleb Williams]

Q- "How do the dawgs sit with you compared to other schools in your recruitment?"
A- "Good, UGA is sitting good."

Q- "Is Georgia high on ur list?"
A- "don't really have a list"

Q- "What goes into a school being "the one?"
A- "the person just feeling like it could be home for the next 3 or 4 years"

Q- "Is OSU a contender?"
A- "no"
[question asked multiple times, same answer every time]

Q- "When you visiting LSU?"
A- "don't know"
[follow-up]
Q- "Imagine you and @_6gxd At LSU" (@_6gxd is Agiye Hall, 5-Star WR)
A- "ikr (I know right), imagine @_6gxd"

Q- "Does LSU winning the natty have an impact on your decision?"
A- "not really"

Q- "Who's another recruit that you would like to play with in college?"
A- "@3reasonss_" (@3reasonss_ is Jalil Farooq, 4-Star WR/DB from Maryland. Offered by LSU... impressive player, and LSU should look for him to add depth to both sides of the ball if we miss out on WR or CB recruits in the 2021 class. See my "Predicting LSU's 2021 Football Recruiting Class" for more info, I'll be updating it regularly)

Q- "How does it feel knowing you'll get to throw to guys like Arik Gilbert and Kayshon Boutte?"
A- "lol if I go there, pretty great"

Q- "What do you look for in a program? Pro potential, scheme, history of QB development?"
A- "um just a place that fits me and wins and throws the ball around"

Q- "Does PSU have the best fan base and stadium in CFB?"
A- "um PSU and LSU and GA"

Q- "How's UGA sitting with you?"
A- "they're sitting well we talk a lot"

Q- "what u think of LSU?"
A- "great school great fans they're insane lol in a good way and great team"

Q- "just know that LSU won't be running an outdated pro style offense. We are gonna keep running an elite spread."
A- "yeah ik I wanna see who they get after Brady"

Q- "hey man I really hope u come to LSU we got great fans. ik we lost Joe Brady but knowing coach o, he will hire some good"
A- "yep hopefully he does that would be good for LSU"

Q- "what do you like about LSU the most?"
A- "other than the football stuff, just the support"

MY THOUGHTS:

Caleb is probably one of the most mature recruits I've come across when you watch him talk, both over the internet and on video. He's very intelligent for his age, and you can tell he's enjoying being shopped around, which is fine. Being that talented, he has an endless list of teams vying for his signature. He's going to deflect obvious questions sometimes, as most recruits do. (Also know that he likes everyone's comments on instagram, so if you comment something, don't feel special or take it to heart if he likes it.) I believe that if LSU does indeed land Caleb, expect a tidal wave of recruits following suit. He's that kind of guy.

Reading this is like listening to coach speak in a media session. Jesus.

I don't really blame him for not tipping his hand. The public isn't always very forgiving, it is better to keep it to yourself. It actually shows some maturity on his part. I also heard him say that when he commits he will shut it down. I respect that as well.

saw this as well. I believe his comment about not flipping once he commits was also a jab at Rakim Jarrett because someone had just asked him about Rakim in the interview LOL

I'm sure my emotional opinion will change if he goes elsewhere, but he seems like a mature kid.

Yeh. If you listen to him speak, he’s a thoughtful guy

He seems pretty intelligent from the interviews I’ve seen him do. Like, he knows a lot of the current players and coaches for teams.

I’ve seen him rattle off current coaches, current players, current recruits for various different teams in the sand interview.

He’s definitely doing his homework on the schools.

I agree, I think he's a massive recruit for LSU if we can swing him. He's the type of guy that other huge recruits will want to follow because they know what he's like too. Not to mention, Coach Munoz was the one who took over his recruitment for Brady, and if all goes as planned, Munoz will be the one directly developing Caleb at LSU

I honestly think this is a good answer for him. he doesn't wanna tip his hand, but considering how much he loves LSU, I think this might mean "it doesn't really have an impact this year because it won't be the same team when I'm there" or "I'm already gonna go to LSU so them winning a natty doesn't change anything in my decision"

If its between us and UGA they have the strong advantage due to Jamie Newman being a one and done. Williams probably starts as a freshman for them while he wont for us because of Brennan/Max Johnson. Add in their new OC and insane talent it seems like him coming to LSU is a long shot.

while I agree with this logic, you also have to consider Georgia actually added TWO transfer QBs, and landed Carson Beck. Not to mention they're going after Brock Vandagriff very hard. I think Caleb is better than all of them too, but I think he's still coming to LSU.

Something just tells me this kid isn't coming here. I was confident until Brady left. I hope I'm wrong. I would love to land an elite QB in this clas though.

Coach Munoz was the one that was with Williams most of the time during that 4-day recruiting trip. Plus Caleb already said that one single coach doesn't make or break his recruiting decisions. If Munoz slides into Brady's spot and Myles does well this year, Caleb Williams is a Tiger.

I truly hope you're right. It seems like it would be a no brainer if choosing between us and UGA, especially after watching both teams last season. However, we all know there are many more factors in play.

all I'm saying is that Georgia hasn't won a national championship since most of these recruits' parents were in middle school

Too bad recruiting has become just an attention game for a lot of young prospects. His answers were very coy about LSU and much more direct about UGA...

And that means precisely dick. You know all these questions weren't going to result in any real answers yet people still lined up to ask them.

Haha why did people ask about OSU? OSU has a top qb committed for 2021 and just took 2 good ones in 2020.

Strange questions
