I believe Reed is sold on Auburn, but is checking out his in state school one more time just to take the visit and see what they offer him again. He could possibly be swayed, but I doubt it. Either way, I wouldn't fault the kid if he wanted to stay closer to home.

That's why you're my favorite Aubbie.

Wow. Actual insightful analysis from an Auburn fan on this board. Who knew?

Not understanding why Auburn? It's where you go when you can't get offered by a powerhouse SEC team, not when you can go anywhere. To us it marks the 4th or 5th straight year of losing or almost losing the state's number 1 player. We always land the rest but for some reason #1 waivers.

Been going there a few years now for my job and have realized it's a boring town and campus...

I'm just going to chime in and say Auburn =/= Vanderbilt. We have a history that's actually very similar to LSU.

Reed and McKnight and that's it. I wish Reed was going here, but I understand why he's going to AU. In all actuallity though, from the little I've seen, I like Landry next year more than Reed, so I don't count it as that big of a loss. Especially if we can get Wright, Fobbs or Ambles. McKnight wanted to leave the state and just slow played LSU so people wouldn't give him too hard of a time.

You're right. In some instances and for some kids Auburn < Vanderbilt.

My point is, those saying "Why Auburn?" need to understand that different kids want different things out of a college and Auburn has Reed convinced he "needs" to get away and start a new life outside of LA.

That leads to my other concern..........that the Auburn coaches are being pretty shitty by playing on Reed's situation and his emotions. I hate to see that. Hopefully Coaches Wilson and Gonzales can show him that all he needs IS at home in Louisiana.

No one is a lock when Frank Wilson is lurking.

Was saying that we almost lost RP, then Joe Mc, then last year almost lost RR. Now Reed. Ugh! We're solid on getting our second best player down but our number one seems repeatedly difficult to land.

That is BS and you know it. Reed like MANY MANY others before him and after him has decided AU > LSU for him. We HAVE been the better team two out of the last three decades and historically were better than LSU until the 2000's.

RP - train wreck

McKnight - money taking train wreck

Ruben - 1 out of the last three that is worth a shite.

Reed - Seems like his mind is made up so there's no reason to bash him. However, based on the talent we have here already ahead of him I'd say the late push on Reed is merely a perception thing in that our coaching staff just wants to show kids we won't give up on them even after they commit elsewhere.
