My opinion has always been that talent usually makes itself.
For instance, Aaron Rodgers. He's a stud. He's amazing. Everyone recognizes this. For a turn, Tedford was considered the QB guru of gurus, and some Cal QBs were hot commodities... except, none of them were ever all that good.
Rodgers wasn't great because of Tedford. Rodgers was great because of Rodgers.
eta: This is also why I don't typically consider depth charts, because I think in most cases the cream rises. The best players will play.

Well put.

I agree with you for the most part. It just seems some teams do a little bit more at certain positions like Cooper at USCe and LSU.

I think this works for the first half of the draft, but when you start looking at kids who aren't "the cream", I start looking teams that have a need.

Hey Sun, you do realize it's your pick right now, right?
ETA: Wait nevermind. Did we skip Spence?

He picked, I just didn't post it in the thread. It's on the first page and in the sheets though.

Mother frick!
I wanted to take that dude in the supp rounds. This guy is a LBer version of Tebow. This dude hits a ton when he tackles and has pretty good coverage ability.

In the 19th Round of the 2012 TD RMD, Suntiger selects, Win Homer, Offensive Tackle from Boston College.
Ht: 6'5"
Wt: 245 lbs
I'm actually surprised he's still around. I think he committed early and the services just stopped looking at him. He's got a good frame, good feet and long arms, but needs to put on some weight. His competition wasn't the greatest in high school, but he's got a lot of potential. And hey, he's an offensive lineman going to Boston College...he'll probably end up being pretty good.

Good pick. I looked at him before taking Jelks.

You already have two tackles. Do you want Homer inside or one of your other guys to move inside?

Homer is a tackle.
Poutasi will be my guard. That's probably his best position and where Poutasi will start out, but he will probably move outside before it's all said and done.

Damn. Didn't see his name.
Okay then. Here's a guy that also plays corner that I liked a lot based on his film. Taller guy with nice hands. Really fluid looking athlete. Think Morris Claiborne-lite
CB Torren McGaster (Vanderbilt)

Just so if someone searches for him, his name is Torren.

So it is. I had typed the wrong name into my Dropbox account. No matter how you spell it, the kid can play.

We only overlap needs at one position, but that does happen to be the position I plan on filling with my next pick, if my guy is there.
