I looked at him too considering he's going into Malzhan's system. After a lot of reading (Way more than I ever though I'd do about an ArKansas State recruiting class.) I think one of the running backs he signed (I think the kid from Miss) may actually end up competing for the QB spot. Good pick considering the coach and competition though.

Trent could have been a four-star kid and could have had double-digit offers, but I think in he and his father's heads, they viewed him as an elite kid who wasn't going to "settle" for one of the in-state schools. I think Trent wanted an offer from UW, but even if they had offered...I doubt he would have taken it.

Also, in my opinion, Trent only played to about 50% of his abilities as a junior (he had over 1000 yards receiving that year, but I thought it could have been a lot more and he could have had a lot more than his 14 TDs that year). As a senior, I did see him put out more effort and he seemed to be tougher (maybe the snubs toughened him up or he played with a chip on his shoulder) so...who knows.

All I know is, I saw a kid who had tons of potential, but who really didn't seem to have the heart and desire necessary to be a highly-recruited kid.

I honestly just stummbled upon him. Liked his size and speed and watched some film and couldn't figure out how he slipped. Hopefully he will get his attitude straight and be a good player down the road.
