Hootie must realize that CR and Sims each made the decision that they thought was best for them. And neither decision has anything to do with what is best for Hootie. What is best for him is not based on his friendship with them. He is too great of a recruit to base his decision on friendship.

CR and Sims are not recruiting Hootie based on what is best for him, but what is best for them. They are trying to help Bama, not Hootie. They are trying to show their power and influence and to place themselve in good standing with Bama.

If they had Hootie's best interest in mind, they would recognize the success of LSU with DBs in general and safeties in particular. More success than Bama has had with DBs. They would leave it up to Hootie and his family to make an informed decision based on what is best for Hootie. Not go on record saying they are going to deliver Hootie to Bama as if he cannot think for himself. As if they are the ones who know what is best for Hootie. Rather than Hootie and his family. They are being selfish based on their desires, not Hooties'.

How many guys from Monroe area has Bama placed in the League? How many has LSU placed in the League? How many DBs Bama has put in the League? How many has LSU? Monroe has been good to LSU. And LSU has been good to Monroe. What did Bama do for Luther?

CR could argue Bama has done a better job getting o-linemen to the League. Sims can argue LSU never offered him a scholly (based on higher rated players on their board). What is their argument for Hootie going to Bama with them? Bama offers Hootie absolutely nothing LSU does not. In fact, LSU has a better argument that Hootie, a DB has an advantage at LSU for getting to the League. CR & Sims are looking out for themselves and Bama, not Hootie. Hopefully he sees that.

L know TLDR. But I had to say it.

love every player that goes to LSU but when there is a recruit from La that has bama in their top school and they pick bama it doesnt even phase me. If Hootie picks LSU, awesome. frickin sweet. But if he picks bama then bye bye get buried in the depth chart and watch lesser talented athletes getting drafted in the first three rounds every year out of LSU because of their chance for early playing time and experience. Seriously why worry about these kids? If he picks bama I will LOVE to see a 3 star recruit come in and play his freshman year, start sophomore, shine junior year, and then make millions when Hootie is rotating in his junior and senior year. If he isnt smart enough to realize that then whatever. DBU will be fine because we're DBU.

i agree with most and the part i'm not to enthused about isn't worth mentioning. my feelings are that if a big time high school player decides to stay home and represent louisiana, that person will always be a celebrity to the masses once he moves back to his area of the state. he will almost never have to buy another meal at a restaurant for his remaining days.
however, once the recruit who leaves louisiana for another team, especially one that is a major rival of the a louisiana school, he'll still be a celebrity in his circle of friends, but he will be picking up the bill. in louisiana, we put our football heros on pedestals to show appreciation. probably moreso than about any other state.
they may think this is a rather small thing, but when you think your college career lasts 3-4 years and the rest of your life expectency is about 50 years...that's a lot of free meals he will not have to spend his (and his families) money on. and he'll always feels like a king to family and friends.

I agree and really think that Hootie sees it for what it is. He's gonna do whatever he thinks is best for Hootie. He said that CR's decision will not effect his and I believe that. He seems to be a level headed guy. He's a stud. We need him and he would see the field in year one. There's only one Safety prospect in the country that's better than Hootie and that's Peppers.(and IMO it's debatable) I want this kid bad,

he's been rumored to be an EE and has said he's gonna just contact the staff and let them know when the feeling is right.
