Word is Tennessee is leading after most assumed that A&M would land him
Supposedly his dad, Coach King, has concerns about Haynes playing for Jimbo, and Haynes wants to play for Jim Chaney
If A&M misses here, then they probably aren't getting Card, Jackson (committing to Texas next week), King, Seals, Hornsby, and Morris.
I guess they'd just have to find another Calzada, and tell each other how their QB whisperer coach found a hidden gem.

We all know the reason why people on this board want to drop Finley.
Pretty simple

I was watching JR in his bowl game vs Notre Dame the other day and I wondered how Finley compares to JR in High School. If my memory is correct, JR never won a High School Championship, but what an arm and with great accuracy in college.

Pretty simple?
Finley has better passing & rushing numbers than Johnson.

And both have better numbers than Parrish, but the topic is not about those players

I like king over any of our QBs commits
However, we get no say in who we go after

I agree in that just looking at the Recruit rankings I would go with King over Finley and Johnson but apparently our staff has Finley and Johnson ranked over King for some reasons. Seems they would want the more mobile King for the offense they say they want to run but I generally trust their ability to evaluate talent over the recruit services. If they like both Finley and Johnson over King then who am I (or you) to disagree.

Have we? When was the last time LSU had two highly touted QBs committed and members of this fanbase acted like neither one was worthy of a LSU offer?

What has me concerned and maybe other fans as well is that both current commitments are rated well and have the "measurables" but it has not translated to the field. (Or at least not yet)
Then you factor in the lack of development on the LSU side of the coin and you end up with a giant question mark.
My hope is that we truly are moving in the right direction with talent development.
We will see a lot over the next 2 seasons.

Trust Coach Orgeron. He did a great job evaluating and developing Burrow. We have our quarterbacks of the future.
And an even better job realizing the need for good quarterback play that has been missing for quite a while. But some will not give him credit for that.

Thanks for refreshing my memory. Quite impressive numbers.
If we could get another like him.....

Finley has been killing the camps and 7 on 7 tournaments this off-season. He has improved a whole lot and should see his QB rating go up more. He is highly rated already.

King is better than either QB commit we currently have. I understand that we are in a tough situation and don’t want to rock the boat with the other two. But, I would go after King and see what happens. Kind of reminds me of LSU still recruiting QB’s when Robert Lane was committed. I would say that all worked out okay for Nick Saban.

I doubt that is the situation, especially this far away from signing day and considering how fluid the recruiting process is these days. NO way they pass on a QB they have ranked higher just because they have lower rated ones already committed and "don't want to rock the boat". Has to be they feel Johnson and Finley are better prospects than King. Committed players will drop a team in a heartbeat for another team and at the same time, Coaching staffs will, in various subtle and not so subtle ways, let a committed player know they have moved on from him if they are no longer wanted when they have a better player on the hook. It works both ways.
I just cant see the staff passing on King if they feel he is the better prospect

This thread is great for Nega Tigers, Blind O haters and Gump imposters to get their nuts off. Chitte on QB recruits before they even arrive on campus and talk up QB X who is automatically better than any one we have because we are destined to mess up on QB recruiting for eternity. Got to love those animals.
