He's told the A&M sites Bama and A&M are the only two in consideration but his actions say LSU has a shot which worries me. I want Devall and Dalton Santos bad!

I would worry about bama more IMO. For some reason Devall wants to play in a 3-4. He would also be a good MLB but it doesn't seem like that's whay he wants. He hasn't even confirmed for lsu camp yet. If he doesn't show, he may just commit to A&M on the Sunday.

If he doesn't show up at camp...I think LSU should probably take the hint. He isn't coming here. Would really suck to lose Phillips and Devall this year.

Especially a year so loaded with good LB prospects.

I agree. Lsu struggles to get good LBer prospects and could have used the depth. The good news is Louis, Feist, and Granier should help. Just losing 2 of the top 5 in state in a year the staff specifically focused in state will suck. I just hope at this point that lsu can get LC and he's no lock.

I think it would be pretty embarrassing tbh. Would just go to show you how much we struggle to recruit LBs, even in our own state...

Devall could be several things though, maybe a tweener. LSU needs to do a better job selling it to him that he would fit perfectly in our defense. He doesn't need to be in a 3-4 specifically...

It is certainly concerning regarding linebacker recruitment. I was hoping chavis would help cure this issue. You would think Notable NFL LBers he coached Al Wilson, Kevin Burnett, Leonard Little, Jerod Mayo, Robert Ayers, etc would help.

it would suck even more if they were the only good linebackers in the state!

I guess it's just going to take a bit longer for recruits to get the message.

I have never seen better LB performance at LSU before Chavis got here though. I think most of us have come to expect it now, and it's only been two seasons.

Yea but I'm pretty sure Phillips/Devall would be near the top at who they had rated in Louisiana. Can't afford to lose Devall since Phillips isn't coming here. That would be two top 5 recruits in LA at a major position of need.

it would suck less if we actually were recruiting outside of the state of LA this year. Instead les decided to go full BBQ boys on all of his hires and now we get what Frank can land in LA, nothing from out of state besides the little brother of a former lsu star who lived in baton for a year and we still lose out on 2-3 of the top 10 prospects in state. Nice work, Les.

Saban would have never let this happen...

I don't think Knight will have any thing to do with Devall. Knight wasn't even the best QB we have committed, that would be Matt Davis. Now Monroe would DEFINITELY be a hit for our class, but that is a position of strength for us.

I've heard the Aggies will win the battle for JB Parker. He hated Fayetteville.

I agree, I don't like our new recruiting philosophy. We've been a national presence for awhile now but it has really fallen off since Porter left, then Frank got here. I think Wilson is a tad bit overrated. He is a great recruiter but he doesn't have national presence like Porter did.

Porter>>>Wilson.

LSU's staff has actually been taking steps back when it comes to recruiters. Last year we were fortunate to have Louisiana stacked. Everyone else around is getting stronger, while we're getting weaker. I wish they'd give Gonzo his papers because he has turned out to be nothing but overrated. WR Coach is a area where you generally have one of your strongest recruiters. Gonzo hasn't landed shite for us really. So he gets AJ under his name because he was little brother to PP? Yea.

And I have major doubts our two new coaches with Texas ties are actually going to put our foot back in Texas like Porter had it. LSU seems like they're more on the defensive now in recruiting because the staffs around us, even outside SEC, are getting much better. Seems like we lose a top recruit inside LA every year now. This year it might be two...

pretty much sums it up, although I think Wilson is great, he can only do so much. LSU's staff recruiting-wise is defintely down, and not as good as auburn's or bama's. Gonzo can't recruit half as well as Lane, and LSU is a non-factor in TX. Porter is def missed.

Hopefully he will be available soon...People like to talk about how great it is to get a class full of Louisiana boys but that only works in years like 2011. 2011 is NOT the norm. The perfect class for LSU has to half a good mix of OOS players to supplement the Louisiana talent. Getting everything from in-state is a mistake.

We have top 5 classes every year, have as good of talent as any one in college football, and you paranoids are freaking out and condemning two of the recruiters in the game.Loiuis, Grainger, and Feist are horses and it's July. It's OK to get off the ledge now, scary cats.

We need a coach to step up since we lost our last WR coach our recruiting hasn't been what it once was. BG has done absolutely nothing in recruiting and our WR havent done too much as well.some will blame on qb but there have been way to many dropped balls.
