Why would anyone suspect he was dirty at LSU? It's got to be easy to recruit a championship team to a school that had losing records in 7 years of the decade prior to your arrival.

Shhhh everyone BUT LSU is dirty.

The difference really is LA and Bama are LOADED with talent and easy to get top recruiting classes by keeping local guys home.....

Not quite the case at Clemson! They are pulling guys from all over and away from national powerhouses......it ain't just the rock they gettin their hands on!

But as far as Pagano.....LOL he has gotten his arse handed to him all over this summer..

But he went to a great league to actually be a presence in.....SEC too strong for his game

Early playing time is the #1 priority for most recruits according to polls.

Then why not Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, etc.?

I mean, sure early playing time is a major interest, but it is far from the entire deal. otherwise, you would have schools like Duke, Kansas, Vandy, Northwestern, and Washington State pulling in killer classes.

Both LSU and Alabama are recruiting nationally also there is plenty of talent in and around so Carolina.

Nkemdiche lives closer to Clemson than Alabama let alone LSU. Aside from Pagano coming from Hawaii, who has clemson gotten from outside their regional recruiting zone? Which I would define as SC and states near by (GA, NC, TN and FL)

That its the #1 priority does not mean its the ONLY priority.

I kknow its fun to bash Clemson and all, but contray to what you guys say they do not "suck". They usually win 8 or so games and play in bowls They did win a BCS conference last year and made the Orange Bowl. That they got crushed is fodder for message board posters, but doesn't really mean anything other than that they lost that game badly.

Its still rather mind boggoling to me that LSU fans don't understand that teams can improve and that top recruits should only sign with the top teams from last season. Thank god they didn't think that when LSU was rebuilding.

Pagano's (underwhelming) performances in the camps this summer were not a show stopper. Coaches can see potential and realize he can still develop.

However, Pagano's "swag talk" was over the top IMO. The greatest players have always let their performance do the talkin' and don't want anything they say to distract from what they do. He really, really needs to shut-up and grow-up.

thy an have him,the kid doesn't have a stable mind,it changes like the wind so we'll see if it sticks come feb,i think gilmore is better fit hopefully he doesnt switch up and go to bama but if we lose them 2,i really wanted williams and beckwith more than those 2 anyway,we can get some dt's in 2014,our currents are still young

I never wanted to say it bc of the chance we might have picked him but but I've been pretty consistent with my "meh" stance on pagano. After the camps he lost a lot of appeal to me. IMO, he would have been lost in the rotation (as stupid as that sounds since we use so many DLmen).

I'm trying not to sound like a bammer saying "We didn't really want him anyway" but I personally was never too high on him. Just casually said things like "I'm more interested in other guys". Don't like to bad mouth potential recruits like some idiots on here.

Clemson has had a solid program but it doesn't size up to LSU or Bama especially for a defensive player. If you play on defense and want to go to the NFL LSU and Bama are no brainers.

Before Saban arrived at LSU Clemson would have had almost an identical historical presence as LSU. Who's to say they're not going to have a similar rise as LSU?

Is early playing time always better? A legit defensive player from Bama or LSU is a very high chance of going to the pros. Not that it can't be done at Clemson.

Go look at the number of DTs Dan Brooks has put into the league. He'll have all the opportunity to play football for a living at Clemson.
