its very possible he got ran out of there, OSU fans are used to a certain level of QB play and they didn’t get that this season
feel like he should’ve gotten this upcoming offseason to develop further but I guess not

This is why it's almost impossible to get QB depth in the portal era. So McCord leaves, and they bring in a Dante Moore type - big upside, but unproven. What happens if he doesn't work out, or gets hurt?

Forced him out, they have a stud behind him.

Oh? Do tell? Is it Devin Brown who he already beat out?

Exactly... I love when people say stuff like this when they're only looking at recruiting rankings like McCord wasn't rated high as frick.

The only difference is they have seen McCord play.

That makes no sense, but he’s not a take. He’s a statue. The only one I would want from the portal at this time is Dante Moore or maybe Ward.
Cam Ward, Dante Moore, or Dillon Gabriel if he doesn't go to Mississippi St.

Can someone explain this one?

He managed to put up average numbers throwing to one of the most talented WR rooms in the country, including arguably the most physically gifted WR prospect to come out since Calvin Johnson. He’s not that good and Ohio State probably thinks they can do better than him at QB.

They have had elite QB play and immediately by everyone the past several years there so their perception of how a QB should play and right away is a bit skewed from reality sometimes. McCord was alright and was a first year starter they just expected a lot more because they've been completely spoiled by QB play up there.

I watched him a couple games though. You could tell they kid wasn't anywhere near as talented as the QBs before him. And he was almost always late on his throws. Now I'm not saying he couldn't be really good, but the standard at Ohio St is elite. They shite on CJ Stroud a lot his first year playing despite putting up huge numbers from game one.

McCord could start at plenty schools, but he's not Ohio St caliber. With LSU getting better and better at QB, i wouldn't consider him LSU standard either. We hated Johnson in 2021 and he put up 27 TDs to 6 ints. We hated Daniels in 2022 (well, some of us did), and he had 3800 total yards and 29 TDs with only 6 turnovers.

Nuss will get shite too if he throws up 3200 yards with 25 TDs to 10 ints (i expect him to throw plenty ints). Which is actually a great year, but when you watch it, probably isn't beating Bama, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, etc. The defense won't get dramatically better so you need way more than that.

The guy had WR #1 in country in MH Jr. and another likely first rounder in Emeka Egbuku. Also former 5 star Julian Fleming. And he was pretty pedestrian with all that talent. Pass (pun intended).
