The hype in this thread is n quite humorous
Posted on 12/28/13 at 12:10 pm to Prominentwon
not as humerous as you thinking Blue was better than hill

Who would you compare them to relatively speaking?

I disagree, we are losing over 2000 yards receiving and another 1000 yards of all purpose from OBJ, without anyone else really stepping up and proving themselves when Juice and OBJ would go down. There will be plenty of opportunities for the freshmen to compete next year.
The way Beckham looked in 2012 and then 2013 was completely different. Landry even tuned into more of a monster than he was before. Like I said 0-2 is how many you see play this year. My opinion is Quinn and either Noil/Dupre. I'll give you 2 at the most, but the others, if they get in, will just be a wasted year.

We are moving away from the "redshirt" policy. If you can contribute at all, you're playing. The only players that redshirt are projects or are changing positions (Brockers, etc).

Like you love to spend your time in bash Les threads.
Anyway. Yeah. Bush. Harvin. Johnson. All legit comparisons

Not to two of the best players to play college football. Or two of the best players to ever play the game
Comparisons like that are immediately setting them up for underwhelming careers. Then people will want to blame coaches for not molding them into something that is ridiculous to compare

I hope these guys are all Tigers but and succeed like their Professional counterparts.
To be fair, its just not the folks on this board with the comparisons. We are just excited.
Everyone always try to compare others to all time greats. How many "the next Jordan" have we seen.

One or two " next Jordan's". The hype in this thread may be the worst I've ever seen on this board

It's a recruiting selling point for the recruits with a legit shot at the NFL, and it is more "economical"... i.e. get as much bang for the recruiting effort/$ as possible.

He was comparing them AT THE SAME STAGE IN "HIGH SCHOOL"
Calvin was 6'4", 215 lbs. and ran a 4.4 in high school. That's taller, stronger and faster than Malachi. Dupre is going to be a helluva receiver but comparing him to Calvin is silly.

So saying an elite WR is similar to Calvin Johnson in that he is very physical is silly? How many outside WR's in HS are physical off the line and in blocking?
Who the hell is he supposed to compare him to? Terrance Toliver? Yeah, people around the country following his recruitment are going to know who he is talking about

Tony Brown = Prime Time
Jamal Adams = Ronnie Lott
Malachi Dupre = Calvin Johnson
Leonard Fournette = Walter Payton
We stacked, SEC fricked.
Is that better VermilionTiger?

I say Alshon Jeffery but with a high ceiling than gas pump attendant.

It obviously went over your head, idiot.
Fournette is the only player that has been given unreal expectations. Malachi's playing style was compared to Calvin Johnson..not his talent. Tony Browns make up speed/quick rebound step was compared to an NFL great, not his skill set.
Did I paint a good enough picture for you to read? Or should I try again?

No, I just think it's just ridiculous to compare him to Calvin or Tony to Deion. There are plenty of other comparisons that could be made without using NFL hall of famers, but I'm glad to know you've simply gone to name calling b/c someone doesn't agree with your opinion.

They are comparing their playing style to them. They are recognizable names, so that's why they compare them to those names.
Similar to Jarvis Landry in HS being compared to Jerry Rice, in that he had the best hands in the country. Man..that was an outrageous statement there.
