How many scholarships does Alabama have?? Im hearing 28,30,35...wtf?

It still affects their 85, they can do it but eventually it catches up. They did not take a full class last year and with all the grey/blue shirts who knows what they are doing. He will process a bunch anyway.

That is the correct number. If there are no blue shirts or grey shirts given out Bama can only sign 28. If they hand out grey or blue shirts well that number can rise, but the grey shirts and blue shirts can't participate in the 2019 season for what its worth!

Really? I did not know this. I thought it was basically the same as a preferred walk on.
Edit:
I just looked at the rules on it. A “blueshirt” has to be an “unrecruited” athlete, is on scholarship, can’t play, but can practice. (I don’t know why we don’t use this more often with these instate local kids that seem to be all LSU from early on)
A “greyshirt” is not on scholarship, can’t practice or play.

So they apparently have two guys gray shirting this year. Do those guys count towards the 85 limit??

I wouldn’t think so since they are technically not on the team. But it also means they would be free to transfer to another school and play immediately I would think. From the wording of it that I read, it’s like they are taking a year off of the sport and it doesn’t go against their 5 years to play 4.
