C Tolliver was already redshirted. He cannot get a medical redshirt unless there are extreme circumstances...like two separate major injuries.

I really don't see Botts going away, as much I would like to see that happen. Miles has repeatedly said that he likes to use two punters...IMO that is Wing and Botts.

There is attrition every year...who knows who it could be.

Oh, and thank God they moved Copeland back to defense.

They were talking about a hardship meaning he is allowed to keep his scholarship and finish school but he doesn't play football and isn't counted against the roster. But he's healthy now so I'm not worried about that

A lot and was pretty much useless at FB. He had no idea where to be and whiffed on several blocks. I think the staff will move him back to Dline .

I'm glad you said this. I've been saying there is no way he stays at FB. Maybe on goal line situations. But Worle is ridiculous. He can run and catch plus now he has this RS year to beef up a little. That with Dickson being an option leads to Copeland and his explosive first step going back to the DL to get in the rotation next year.

back to the OP, not sure how it will work, but i'm sure the coaches will make it work. If we get Mett, that whole Chris Garrett won't look as stupid. Maybe, Miles did that just to get Mett.

Can Davenport be moved to OG?

He's only a freshman this year, too.

One more question....if JC Copeland is not a good fullback, is DE out of the question? He's quick and strong.

Why is he a lock for an undersized DT?

Memphis, I thought Russian was the long snapper but wasn't sure.In that case we need him so that takes one off the list. That's why I hinted about his role on special teams.

As for cb,Mathieu,Simon,Claiborne,Brooks are a great place to start and i know we have the recruits coming but are any of them absolutely ready to play?I think Jenkins is but none of us will know until the practices in August. Is Vinson going to stay at CB?Some say S,some cb.I don't really know how he's looked in practice this year so i can't be sure about him.I just think Calhoun is athletically gifted and only a rFR so maybe he gets another year.Doesn't matter really since he won't be passing up any of the 4 ahead of him so I get your point.

D Calhoun.....shaking my head why he hasn't returned ONE punt. Down hill speed is his forte.

I suppose you have to have more than one skill when standing on your own 10 ydline.

Russian was recruited for and is our long snapper

I though Joey Crappell #50 was our long snapper?

Most likely attrition guys

Attrition usually occurs after Spring practice when the depth chart is made. Those that see themselves decreasing to 3rd and 4th string may leave to a smaller school. When JRs and SOs see freshmen ahead of them they may also leave.

Joey Crappell is our starting long snapper over Russian and has played it all year. Since they are both JRs, I would consider Russian a pretty likely attrition candidate

If that' the case then Russian has no use on the team.he doesn't play at TE.Our numbers will be fine.23-25 with me leaning towards 25 depending on who wants in.

I can see Derrick Bryant leaving
Possibly Greg Shaw
Possibly one QB if we get Mett

I could see one of the two CB's already committed possibly decommitting like Jalen Collins or David Jenkins

Probably because of Peterson.

But you are right...Calhoun was an amazing player in a really tough classification in Georgia. In addition to killing defenses as a RB, he also played some good DB and was great at returning kicks and punts. I watched him return two for TDs in a playoff game his senior year.

The way Shaw is playing i don't think he goes anyhwere. He could start next year.Have been really impressed with him esp. the Bama game.
Jenkins isn't going anywhere.Collins is from Olive Branch so you never know with those kids but i think he's solid. That's what he says anyway.

Collins would probably be the first DB to go, but I dont see us running any of them off. Shaw is a beast, why would anyone think he would get run off?

If it would be anyone in the secondary leaving, it would be Ronald Martin. Jenkins is the most ready and Collins is an athletic freak.

No way does Shaw leave after getting time this year and will be in the mix to start at RT next year

Derrick Bryant has gotten playing time, and with the youth we will have at CB, we will need all the veteran leadership at safety we can get.

Also, if we get a new OC, I don't see a QB leaving. While Lee would be the likely candidate, with a new OC, they are all back at square one.

Lee is just a confusing individual. He has the drives against Florida, then looks awful in the Bama game with his jump passes and being afraid to get hit, yet comes up big with the throw to Randle at the end

Thats just a lot of attrition from the current team especially considering Murphy might possibly get a waiver of his 5 year rule (unlikely imo but thats besides the point). Im leaning more around 22 or 23. And if my #s are right that would still be 7 or 8 to attrition which is a lot.
