I didn't choose my words wisely... to rephrase...
Maybe he doesn't want to talk to the media/reporters there, those guys. As opposed to "he doesn't want any attention right now".

I thought this because it's no secret how many of them are running around there. The recruits may be getting tired of them. Hootie just took it too a new level.

Then again, he returned home for a funeral too; may have made it back.
