Pocic, clapp and Hawkins will be the bread and butter of this line for a few years.

What about Edinburgh
Should be competing for the RT spot next year

I see the starting o-line this way next season:
LT: Hawkins
LG: Alexander
C: Porter
RG: Turner
RT: Pocic
Don't count Evan Washington out of the mix. He came in the Auburn game, I think it was, and got meaningful snaps when Turner got nicked.
Also, Boutte and Dodd are potential all-SEC caliber eventually. Their time will come. And Malone is underrated.
Finally, Brumfield and Clapp both appear to be growing into potential OT's. They're both right around 6-4.5 to 6-5 and 280ish.

Since you guys have been evaluating him at practice, please enlighten the rest of us on what he needs to improve on...
well, if you really want to know:
he came in overweight, slimmed down a little but is still massive.
he can only run block, and has had trouble grasping the schemes
and miles also said he's limited to right guard because he cant handle the pulling guard duties
And hes older than both our starting guards
so like mentioned earlier, cant really see him getting much time besides mop up duty.
Not that he's a bad player at all, we just have some athletic studs along our line, that are almost as big and just as powerful

Boutte will be a stud and could play several positions. I can't see him not being a starter. He might even win out at LT...should LC leave early.

Hawkins needs to develop skills. Looked bad against top SEC pass rushers. I'm not that impressed with Porter at center also.

La'el is gone, put that at 100% and thank him for his time here.

Hawkins is extremely young and earned his spot on raw talent alone. Technique and fundamentals will come. He's got a few years here.
Posted on 10/17/13 at 3:54 pm to RATeamWannabe
I agree. It would be like Dorsey staying and that just doesn't normally happen.

Then your definition of bad is stupid. Hawkins has exceeded expectations. A year ago he didn't even know how to get in a proper stance. So far he's been the best freshman tackle in the SEC.

Well then you're an idiot. No surprise though. Most of your posts are straight garbage.

Porter just demolished the NG for Florida, he's definitely improving by the Game..

Wheres this from? Definitely wouldnt like to lose porter next year
Its not like the staff wouldnt retain him after he graduates. Hes a starter, they'd definitely have him in grad school

Up until recently (especially the UF game) I would have agreed with tubucoco about Porter.
He seems to really be improving at a fast pace. May be the talent was always there and he just needed to get some experience. Tricks of the trade type thing.

Wouldn't put that at 100%. Offensive Tackle will be stacked in this year's draft. If he sticks it out till next year he is a no doubt first rounder.
This. There isn't much buzz around La'el right now. It's his first year back at his natural position. If he stays and stays healthy, he'll be an easy 1st rounder in the spring of '15.
