Also, I watched Mauti hit's hit on Mahtook and it didn't look out of bounds or late enough to throw a flag (and there was a ref right on top of the play btw). K done with he stupid Mauti thread. Like it was said before, this thread comes up every year, arguements insue, and never goes anywhere.
the in state school always knows the deal more than the OOS schools. LSU didn't want to waste our time, end of story. Glad he is doing well now though.

That wasn't the question...whether they would "waste their time"...it was about evaluation of a prospect. You think OU and Fla would waste their time if they didn't evaluate him highly withthe given film, film available to LSU as well. Ok, definitely done.

there is a lot more to recruiting than film study. there is due diligence involving speaking with coaches in the district, his teachers, people around him. not as easy for OOS schools to do.

what kills me about his mandy BFs is they don't seem to get the fact that even if he becomes a 1st team all american, nobody in baton rouge cares but them. When he was a junior in HS, LSU took a soft approach to him, then he ended his recruiting in June. For that coaches and fans at LSU are supposed to be feeling bad if he does well? or hope he doesn't have a nice career so LSU doesn't look bad? Who really gives a shite, he is just another college football player from Louisiana.
Rufus Alexander was from our own backyard, wanted to come to LSU, wasn't deemed good enough by Saban and goes on to become Defensive Player of the Year in the Big 12. Now THAT hurts.

what his buddies want to blame LSU for is not recruiting the shite out of him when he was a junior and nobody else was really on him. Like LSU is obligated to be out there shaking the trees for developmental projects to fill out their recruiting classes. Mauti didn't really show his worth to LSU until his senior year but he already committed.
