I agree with one thing you said..PSU will NOT win one..But the way the stupid BCS works, they have a cake walk schedule and could very easily be headed to the NC..win it is another story

He committed early, in June, how can you say LSU slow played him as you insinuate. They still had 8 months to recruit him. This kid was going to PSU the day he was born.

Oklahoma, Florida, and Penn State were the 3 schools heavy on Mike..LSU was not, get over it..he wanted to get that shite out the way before his senior season..

So he wanted to end it early and didn't come to camp at LSU and this is LSU's fault?

Like I said he was never going anywhere else so why do people keep bringing this up. He'll be a good Big 10 LB, so what, we can't get them all.

Offshore you need to shut the frick up you don't know what you are talking about. The only thing you know is what you read on a recruiting website. Tigerbru and I both are 2 of Mike's best friends so I think we had a little more insight to the situation.

That's because all of the HS coaches in Louisiana turn these guys into running backs

Chuck Scott, Alex Singleton, Alfred Blue, and countless others. Probably would've been awesome LB recruits.

there has been many LB's rated just as high as he has coming out of HS.

Cam Vaughn
Luke Sanders
Jason Ledoux
Darry Beckwith
Barkevious Mingo
Jacob Cutrera
Kirston Pittman
Rufus Alexander

Actually, my broher is really good friends with Mike and tigerbru17. He told my brother that LSU wasn't recruiting him anywhere near as much as the other schools (OU,Uf, Penn State) and he would have given serious consideration if they had. He said it would have been great to play for the school where most of his friends were going to go. He visited UF so what makes you think he wouldn't go 1 hour to BR. He shows my brother texts from Stoops, Venables (assigned to Mike), Charlie Strong, and others. Guess who's texts he didn't show because they didn't exist?

His comes up each year and the people who know him know that he did want to play at Penn State. But it wasn't a done deal since birth (according to Mike himself) like some of you people think. Sure I may have been likely. I would have loved to be to watch him in Death Valley. He does give me another team to root for though.

Mauti is starting in year 2 at LB U. I'd say that's saying A LOT.

And he had 26 tackles, a forced fumble and a QB hurry in his true freshman season last year.

A. How many of the guys you listed were the #1 LB in the state of LA?

B. How does any of those guys disprove my point that Mauti was one of the best LBs to come out of the state recently?

None of those guys amounted to much in college (or haven't played much yet) except Alexnader (who didn't come to LSU) and maybe Vaughn AT LB who were both recruits about what, several years before Mauti?

*He had major family ties to PSU no way in the world he was going to any other school but PSU. Plus they have the history of being LB U!! Posluszny was a recent Butkus award winner.
Futhermore LSU is not known for its LB prowess more for DL and DB's.
Who knows but he might just be saying "I wouldn't have attended LSU" so his friends and people back hom ewouldn't give him grief.

Les had nothing to do with it this is just a mute arguement!! It sucks for us but sometimes a kid just has his heart set on a certain school and if the offer is there he will commit and not even care how much other programs court him.

Ummm besides all of them???

all of them

you said one of the best LB in LA in years.

it was stated like he is the cream of the crop in recent years,

when in fact he has company of about 5-7 other players.

this is the quote, BTW

quote:

Figures one of the best LBs in LA in years wouldn't have any interest in LSU

quote:

None of those guys amounted to much in college (or haven't played much yet) except Alexnader (who didn't come to LSU) and maybe Vaughn AT LB who were both recruits about what, several years before Mauti?

yeah Beckwith only started for nearly 3 years, Pittman only has 2 NAtional title rings...Sanders, as bad as he was started on a national championship defense. Vaughn also nearly a 3year starter on a national title team...naw, nothing

How do you know the old ones were #1? Rivals rankings only date back to 2002. What are you basing those (particular) guys being the #1 LB in the state on?

quote:

you said one of the best LB in LA in years.

And how is that different than saying RECENTLY?

quote:

it was stated like he is the cream of the crop in recent years

See, you even got it. In recent years.

quote:

when in fact he has company of about 5-7 other players.

Did I not say "one of the best"? Is he not? Does a couple guys disprove that? No.

quote:

yeah Beckwith only started for nearly 3 years

And never amounted to a lot. He got a ton of hype but never lived up to it as he was injured most of the time.

quote:

Pittman only has 2 NAtional title rings

Playing DE, not LB.

quote:

Sanders, as bad as he was started on a national championship defense.

Which doesn't make him good. We just didn't have much of anyone else.

quote:

Vaughn also nearly a 3year starter on a national title team

And I mentioned he was one of the best ones of that crop. He had okay years until his final season when had like 80 something tackles.

You just spent all this time not disproving anything I said. Mauti was one of the best to come out LA in years for LBs. You also had to reach fairly far back to find the best ones as they were recruits when Mauti was in middle school (possibly elementary school).

Once again, you have no fricken idea about him like most others. I guarantee you that he would not have told my brother anything but his true feelings.

Tell you the truth, I remember Mike telling my brother and I he really liked Florida and was rocking Gator shite nonstop until he visited. Said that Urban and other coaches said he was top of their board and were only recruiting him and like 2 other LBs. He visits and said that there were so many LBs visiting and being hounded by coaches that it turned him off pretty quick.

Believe what you want but it's not worth explaining anymore of this because it's over. Please no more. Just enjoy him when he hits Pryor next year.

what old ones? Ledoux?

he's the only one im not sure about, but he was a 4 star at least

Beckwith, Vaughn, Sanders, Mingo, Cutrera, Pittman were all the top ranked LB's in the state coming out.

you realize every year at LB, there is a guy just as good or if not better than Mauti???

quote:

See, you even got it. In recent years.

cream of the crop= top of the line by himself. Which he wasnt.

lol, nice reach

what do u want me to use??

you know what u mean when you said one of hte best in years, you can keep trying to wiggle around it. Im not going to argue with someone as clueless as you u anymore
