The older thread was anchored or something.
This is from poster ezrulz
He says he will announce his decision on signing day between FSU, LSU, and Texas.
Mario eliminated OU saying that he didn't like the players and soured on him after his december visit.
Texas fans remain confident and FSU fans are confident they will hold on to him.
LSU could be the surprise team here, charging up the board late in the process.

How cheap are flights from dallas to br? I know its an eight hour drive. Fl St might solidify his commitment still, but Mario hasn't mentioned them for weeks. His dad had him at 16 and took custody when jr. was three months old. Mario, Sr. was a cb for the Cowboys and is a self-proclaimed football junkie, which is good. Maybe David Jenkins and Jalen Mills can get involved on this one. Don't know if his mom still lives in Pascagoula but his dad's from there so he may still have family there, which is less than 3 hrs from br. If we get the visit on Jan 20th, I think he'll be our signing day surprise.

really interested to see his results from the UA practices. I know he is already pretty high on nearly every list, still would like to see him solidify a top spot.
I mean, if we get him..if not, we didnt want him anyway

It's a done deal if we get a visit. He would love playing in Chavis' scheme and he would get along with the coaches and players.
Mack Brown is a prick. And FSU isn't as desirable for him as most people think.

If OU is out then I think he is ours if we get a visit

Nothing is ever a done deal in recruiting, and you will never know what is going on inside his head no matter how much money you pay for recruiting website memberships....

If we could sway Mario and Gunner that late in the process.....

We could also have another crystal ball in our trophy case by the time he visits which would largely affect him

Was Miles still in Dallas when Sr. was drafted?
Posted on 12/31/11 at 2:22 pm to moneyg
That's exactly what I was wondering

He was there for Edwards' rookie season only, then he took off for Okie Lite
Posted on 12/31/11 at 2:31 pm to GeauxAggie972
That was only 13 years ago right?

2000 So a little less than 12 years

You guys seem confident that if he visits, he will be ours. Why so?
FSU people think there is no way in he'll he leaves them.

I think FSU has lost hin. If he is seriously considering Texas, then he obviously wants to be closer to home.
I always thought it was odd FSU reeled in him, Fowler and Casher. I think if they held those 3, it would be better than the Buckeyes

Didn't his dad play at FSU? Yea that is very strange that he would committ to them

When they are now halfway across the country yes it is odd. Pretty sure Jr has lived his whole life in Texas

Right now I think its
Texas
FSU
LSU
If he visits we move up the list. I hope our commits can recruit him in the ua game. They are on the same team.

When he committed last spring, it seemed like more of an emotional decision than a practical one. I think he lived with his dad on campus while Mario, Sr was playing for the noles. So I'm sure he has early childhood memories of Tallahasee that are impossible to ignore. Part of the attraction of Fl St over the last two years has been a new young coaching staff who have recruited as well as anyone and the promise of being a BCS team every year. But starting out number 6 and finishing unranked will always affect some recruit[s] interest level because they lose trust in the coaches. FSU was a talented team that lost to several lesser teams this year and looked flat against ND in their bowl game. Mario is the #1 overall player in espnu rankins, so he probably wants to make a splash at the next level. Winning programs and their players get the accolades, and LSU is doing it better than anyone at the moment. I think Tx is our toughest competition in this one until further notice. Right now I like our chances.

Interesting. I would be so stoked with Mario Edwards Junior. Him and Landon would make this class epic.
