guess now its time to reasearch this question: what is the worst a national title game participant has finished in the rankings? I'm guessing this years class will challenge that position...

We are snakebit in recruiting this year. What was looking like a possible solid finish looks like we will be settling on some guys we originally weren't looking at much.
We don't have a single Rivals 100 recruit. That blows my mind.
I agree 100%...it's been a very unfortunate recruiting year
maybe some of this is a blessing in disguise?
We can only hope, right!

The key here is why are we disappointed? We were never on top of those guys from the get go. They are all late stabs, and the results are predictable.
We should have made LC want to come to LSU above any other considerations but that didn't happen. But I wouldn't worry about Johnson's year, he's just as good. What we should worry about is he may be visiting Florida this weekend.
We have a decent class, but nothing to write home about this year. The only guy we really needed and expected to get was LC - and the Miller thing, well, that just was a mess.
We just need to lick our wounds and hope all 21 fax something in. But if we don't make contact with every top recruit nationwide that is worth Bama's, Auburn's, Florida's, FSU's or Texas' time, then we'll be singing the same tune next year. Cause 2013 is a down year for LA.

Florida, after winning the national title in '08, finished #11 on rivals. The previous year, after winning the title, LSU finished #11. Year before that, the title game loser (Ohio State) finished #15.
All title game participants excluding Auburn this year have finished top 3 in the recruiting class of their championship defense season.

Agreed! Seriously, these guys are simply guessing and have been wrong more than right. Not only are the paid members upset at the recruiting news, but they are out money for it too in order to pay people that know just as much (or in some cases less) than the people on this board.

Really? The reason we are disappointed is because every single year we've landed a few of these guys at least, and this year? ZERO, none, zilch. That's what's disappointing. We don't have a single Rivals Top 100 guy, let that sink in...when is the last time that has happened?

If you paid attention to certain people you just laughed at all of them at least I did.
Also we need another recruiter on staff to compete with others. Been saying this Frank Wilson and crew can't lock down everyone like in year's pasts.

Tbird - couldn't agree with you more. As well as Miles has done prior to this year, this year he really has screwed the pooch!!!! Like you I can't fully understand how things went so bad so fast but obviously the NC game and Miles pig-headedness to try and open things up and change things around when it was obvious his game plan was not going to work. I think recruits like the "River Boat Gambler" in him and like the fact that he would be unconventional. He went back to his Michigan roots during the NC game and he needs to get away from that next year, unfortunately all the recruits were watching us show our asses on National TV during that game and that hurt in my opinion
