At the game tonight...
Arik Gilbert and BJ Ojulari against Myles Murphy (Clemson).
Should be a good game.

Besides those 2, Marietta is stacked. I think I counted 5 players who had LSU offers.

Yeah, it is senior night at Marietta. I lost count of guys with scholarship offers to P5 schools. Oddly enough, didn’t hear any going to UGA or Ga Tech.

Hard to believe since Georgia leads for “everybody”

1st drive, Gilbert 1 catch for about 7 yards and 1 key block.
Murphy is a beast. 1 tackle for loss and 1 sack.

BJ is fast, but tends to over run the play.

14-10 Marietta at half.
Marietta throws a lot of screens. Gilbert is fluid as crap. Also a better blocker than I expected. Even lined up against Murphy a couple of times.
BJ is fast. Dude almost sacked the QB a couple of times then ran down the receiver and tackled him from behind. Needs some good technique on pass rush, but that speed is elite.

Didn’t realize Georgia only has 2 of the top 15 players in their own state committed. That’s brutal

Gilbert just laid out fully for an awesome 40ish yard catch. My Hillgrove buddies did not appreciate my appreciation for that play.
Will definitely make his highlight reel.

Final 38-17 Marietta
Final thoughts:
Myles Murphy was dominant on the first drive, but did not hear his name much after that. As expected, he was double-teamed the entire game. He’s a big, athletic kid.
Arik Gilbert did not disappoint. Nothing you don’t already know, but he is an elite player. When he was not catching the ball, he was occupying 2-3 defenders and leaving teammates wide open. His long catch mentioned previously was a catch many NFL guys wouldn’t make. He looks like you could plug him into our offense tomorrow and he’d be ready for the Bama game.
BJ is raw. Tons of athleticism, but will need to get stronger and learn some better technique. Love that speed though.
