Kraig’s ASKED for that re-assignment. If Lindsey would agree, ok, but what if he wouldn’t?

The fact that he’s been back on campus recruiting should indicate that it’s at least possible that he returns, if not likely. Consider how little continuity we’ve had at that position and how much of an issue that has been with negative recruiting. For that reason alone we should try to stick with Lindsey if we can.

If you don’t stand behind a guy who has a major health issue and try to either dump him or re-assign him without him being on board with it, how do you expect to hire anyone established after that? Do you think other coaches wouldn’t take note of something like that? Do you think they don’t talk to each other? It’s a bad situation, but what you are talking about is how you make it even worse.

Kelly should have brought in Jenkins as soon as Lindsey had to take his leave. Then you figure it out this offseason. I know they hoped having a former DL who coached DL for a season would plug the gap as late as this all happened, but not bringing in Jenkins as a backstop immediately was the real mistake.
