If Redus pulls Joyce out of SC the Gamecock fans will riot!

On EspnU today at 5p cst, is the Under Amour Next Elite 24 game. EDIT: Game was canceled due to rain/safety & won't be rescheduled. Dammit.
Plenty of known Lady Tiger targets will be playing: Sarah Strong, Joyce Edwards, Jaloni Campbell, Jazzy Davidson, ZaKiyah Johnson, & Kelsi Andrews.
Other top talents I also wanna see include dunker Arianna Roberson, Sienna Betts (Lauren’s “little” 6-5 sister), Blanca Thomas (UNC), Zamareya Jones, Mia Pauldo & Maddy McDaniel (Gamecock lean).
Last year, Mikaylah Williams dominated the game.

On Aug 30th to Sept 3rd, Mikaylah Williams and Sarah Strong are teaming up once again, going for Gold on the USA 3x3 team for the World Cup games. They won gold together last year.
This can only be a good thing for LSU bc Strong is also scheduled to visit LSU in early September.

Hopefully coaches are talking to Mikaylah Williams about working on Strong

She’s an impact player. This team is already loaded. If they somehow convince Angel to return for her final season and bring in SS & company, Good luck. Mikaylah Williams will have a year under her belt. I don’t know how you beat them.

No doubt Williams is encouraging her/recruiting her to LSU. They are good friends and played with each other 3v3 before for team USA. She will basically be following Williams back to LSU after 3v3. Strong (#2 recruit) is visiting September 9th (home game weekend) with Kate Koval (#5 recruit). That will probably be the most critical weekend of recruiting this fall. I am hoping LSU goes 2 for 2 with those 2 but any one of those would be game-changers.
Mearah O'Neal (#35 recruit), Jaloni Cambridge (#3 recruit), Joyce Edwards (#1 recruit) visit later in the fall.
LSU has flexibility with only 12 scholarship athletes right now. We have #87 recruit committed with Jada Richards right now (#1 LA recruit and only nationally ranked LA prospect). Reese, HVL, Poole, and Poa all have 5th years if they want it but I suspect not everyone will be back for a 5th. So it will be interesting to see how it ends up working out. Plus you have the portal which Mulkey has used great over the last 4 years landing lots of great players

As dominant as she’s been I don’t believe Angel is ready to play in the W. Watching her in the USA Games she’s not able to bully grown women the way she does in college. I really hope expands her game.

That’s why I’m inclined to think she will take the 5th year. Without a midrange shot and more post moves, it’s pretty tough to do much at the next level. You can outbody/physical in college. Won’t be able to rely on that strictly at the pro level. The fiba tournament this summer really showcased what Reese is lacking and needs to develop. Everyone is just as big, strong, tall and as talented in the W. Have to be able to have versatility to actually remain on a roster (which are few and far in between in wnba)

Absolutely. I mean I’m not saying I want her out there bombing 3’s but I just think it would make this team incredibly hard to defend. And it already will be in my opinion. I also hope Colorado and VT aren’t the only big games on the schedule. This team will overwhelm most teams because of the talent level. Can you imagine an IOWA rematch in the PMAC?

Angel has the body of a PF but the game of a 80s NBA center. While she is a special rebounder with Rodman-like positioning/angle-IQ, it'd be hard to make the WNBA's limited roster spots as an undersized center who can mainly only rebound & scoop layups. She needs a reliable face-up mid-range+ shot asap, even while in college, when she plays against future WNBA bigs.
I like the direction Mulkey is going recruiting-wise. She recruited Del Rosario, who is a true center in a big/wide center's body. Koval is a tall true center. Strong, Edwards, Carlton & O'Neal are all PF bodies with PF/W games, all who have flashed some 3pt ability.

If anybody is interested in watching Mikaylah Williams & Sarah Strong win Gold together last year, below are some Youtube links to all their games.
Mikaylah won MVP and even had a few buzzer-beater walk-off game-winners along the way.
USA vs Mongolia
USA vs Egypt
USA vs Ukraine

They are also in the Cayman Islands tournament which has some big names. Obviously VT is not going to happen as we play them in the SEC/ACC classic later so I'm assuming LSU will end up getting UCLA (doesn't sound like UCONN game is going to happen per some of the beat writers from UCONN). UCLA is another top 10 team if it does happen.
-Colorado (Top 16 team) on neutral court
-UCLA (Top 10 team) on neutral court
-Virginia Tech (Top 10 team) at home
I'm guessing we may get one more decent matchup and the rest will be average teams/cupcakes.
LSU travels to Southeastern on Nov 17, LSU hosts McNeese Dec 12. LSU I think is supposed to host Tulane possibly in December.
Thankfully we don't have UNO on the schedule this season (SOS Killers)

When does the full schedule come out? EDIT: Looks like last year, LSU released it on Aug 17th. The new one may be coming soon enough.
-I know LSU opens with Colorado Nov 6th Las Vegas
-On Nov 24th-25th @ Cayman Islands Classic, LSU will play one (or more) out of UConn, UCLA, VT, Tulane, Kansas, VA, or Niagra
-There's the VT rematch Nov 30th ACC/SEC Challenge
-McNeese
-Southeastern

Probably within the next few weeks
Last years was released on August 17th, the one prior Sept 8. Should be announced soon.
Interesting the Cayman island one still hasn't announced the scheduled matchups. Per a VT article, they were originally scheduled to play Tulane and Kansas in the contract they signed up for this tournament but this was months ago. Which is bizarre considering you have UCLA, LSU and UCONN also there... but it seems like teams were added on late

Yeah, I can't find anything definitive on the matchups for the Cayman's. No set matchups, no time schedule or no bracket. Just thumbnails on the teams participating.
