I'm trying to find out any information such as times for 100 and 200 meter runs for women. I know they are very good an only pay attention to ladies with times in a certain range maybe. My niece really wants to attend LSU for track, she attends school in houston and is on a realy good relay team they placed 3rd in the 4x100 and 4x200 5A. She is god but we know she needs to drop her 100 and 200 meters times. Any information will be helpful. Thanks

Also, contact the coaches, send them her times, and tell them she is interested. If her times are ok, they may show some interest in her as a walk on, but a school like lsu keeps elite sprinters!

K thank you guys. She will be running at LSU I believe its June 8th-9th I believe its the Governs race not sure though I will be out of country that weekend. She is a junior, so she has a year to improve time. Also her parents has hired a former Olympic sprinter to train her this summer.

There is recruiting flyer the track team does. It's on the LSU sports site. Print it out, fill it out, and mail it in.

If she is a cross country runner, then she can most definitely walk on. She would have to be a really really good sprinter to get a scholarship offer in the sprints. If she really enjoys track, walk on as a cross country runner.

To short and to muscular to cross country. All she runs is 100 200, 4x100 anchor, and 4x200 anchor leg. I told her parents about the form a couple weeks ago. They are bring her from houston TX to run beginning of next month. If she doesn't Get a scholarship next year.from LSU she understands and have a lot of schools interested in her already. She just would love to go to LSU, but she knows she has to work hard this summer.

Keep in mind the 10.96 that Duncan ran was the third fastest 100 meters ever by a collegiate female in an NCAA sanctioned meet.

This is the best place for info. You can sort through the times pretty easily.

Dyestat is actually a better resource as you can sort times by:

1)Indoor or Outdoor (ie. 55m, 60m, 200m Indoor or 100m, 200m Outdoor)
2) State
3) Class (ie. Fresh, Soph, Junior, Senior)
4) Combine & sort for the top Junior Times in a particular state

If the time your niece has run was indeed a wind legal time, she is among the fastest 11th graders/Juniors in the nation....definitely top 5-10. If she's that good I'm sure LSU and any other top track team would be interested.

Simply access the link and scroll to the bottom of the page as the Boys times are listed on the top 1/2 of the page.

She's within range to get an LSU scholarship.

Goal for next season should be 11.5x-11.6x. She gets there I think she has a good shot as this should be top 10-15 in the nation.

Good Luck to her.

Thank Remy...They have hired a trainer to work with her this summer, some former Olympic sprinter. I believe she can drop it because she really wants it.

I went to the athletic administration building and talked to coach Elliot about walking on. Super nice dude and he probably wont be opposed to giving her a tryout
