LSU has a chance to land 3 of the top 7 DB's in the country

4 star Javien Toviano (#4 Corner)
LSU lean, looks like he will be a tiger

4 star Bravion Rogers (#5 Corner)
Decommit from A&M, looks like LSU is in great spot

4 star Jayvon Thomas (#7 Corner)
Currently committed to A&M but rumors of him decommitting are beginning to loom. Same deal as Rogers, love LSU position here.

As for the safeties.. LSU could get 2 of the top ten.

5 star Derek Williams (#3 Safety)
Currently Texas commit, however lots of LSU players pushing for him to flip. Would be a tough pull but I think it's very possible.

4 star Kylin Jackson (#10 Safety)
Choosing between LSU and A&M on the thirteenth, LSU really likes their spot. He will likely be a tiger.

I believe the secondary is where LSU can pull this class from really good (ranked 5-10) to great (ranked 2-4). I believe all the players I listed have a really good chance of becoming tigers.

Besides Derek Williams...I think they're all highly likely to be Tigers.

Williams is the guy we have to work on the hardest. I put Mathews, the CB from Woodlawn, in the same category.

It's time for LSU to truly reestablish itself as DBU with a lockdown secondary. That requires picking up multiple elite athletes to blanket the entire field.

I don't know how things are going to play out with Toviano, Rogers, and Thomas. Rogers just decommitted from A&M, and things are apparently looking good for us. Rumors are that Thomas will be next to decommit.

We already have Stamps, Hughes, and Austin committed at CB. Would we take 6 cornerbacks in a single class? Would picking up Rogers and possibly Thomas scare away Toviano?

For safeties, I think Derek Williams will be tough if not impossible to flip.

I think our final DB class looks like the following:

CBs:

1. Javien Toviano
2. Bravion Rogers / Jayvon Thomas
3. Daylen Austin
4. Jeremiah Hughes
5. Ashton Stamps

Safeties:

1. Kylin Jackson
2. Ryan Yaites
3. Michael Daugherty

That would be a damn good DB class. Toviano and Rogers could come in and be day 1 starters.

Jim Hawthorne would've had a fun time getting these names right if they were all on the field together.

Yes Williams would be hardest pull of them all. I think if these other guys fall into place first we could see a flip.

Do we consider processing Stamps or Hughes if everyone wants in?

I love the enthusiasm and think we will get a couple of those guys potentially, BUT we currently have commits from zero of the 5 guys you named.

Edit: I’m pessimistic when it comes to football recruiting as you can tell..

He'll NOOOO, Stamps will be in top 200 when all said and done..Hughes would be in top 200 now if not for major injury last year, which he is ahead of schedule recovering...There was concern loosing Yaites only a few weeks ago, but things have been "worked out" as of now...

Crazy how powerful the pull of LSU is when there’s competent coaches involved.

It would be beyond absurd to process a Guyer, Rummel, or a Bishop Gorman prospect especially if we can sign upwards to 32 if needed. Bk and staff are smarter than that; we need as much DBs as possible too

Not at all, just observing the #bringderekhome hashtag and push from players. Seems unlikely but possible
