Not as a true point guard running the team, but Hammink looks like he could do what Garret Temple did and bring the ball up the court and get the offense started. (If needed)

Scott Drew's name is heating up at Illinois.
I'm not saying; I'm just saying.

i think shavon can play a little point forward. shane looks comfortable with the ball in his hand but shavon is probably a little more creative at this point.

I had heard that as well, but couldn't confirm. I'm shocked, because I don't think he's an SEC player, because of his size. But Anderson recruits to his system, so who knows?
I thought Dee was going to UT Chatanooga, or maybe La Tech at best.

i heard that too. interesting. wouldn't really stun me because like you said, anderson goes after guys who he thinks can play in that system (see qualls)
if jones had the grades he and wagner would've been a nice coup for white at la tech.

Bubba it's funny how people always say Trent should have brought in Langston Galloway, Brain Williams & Markel Brown. How do u think Mizz fans feel, they lost Bradley Beal, Otto Potter & BJ Young in the same year. I'm saying that this happens to every school hell North Carolina lose Kevin Durant to Texas so things happen.
PS If Scott Drew goes to Illinois where does Rico go to school

Yes, basketball is a different animal. The vast majority of top players attend out of state schools.

Pelle's plan
What is the latest with five-star prospect Norvel Pelle's recruitment?
- Jeff from San Diego
The top priority for Pelle right now is to get academically eligible to play college basketball next year. Pelle, who was the No. 23-ranked prospect in the 2011 class, was committed to St. John's but was unable to get through the NCAA Clearinghouse.
He did visit Iowa State this winter, and is also considering DePaul, New Orleans, UTEP, San Diego State, New Mexico State and New Mexico amongst others.
Rivals (premium)
No mention of LSU. Not sure that means anything, because this list includes schools his own coach did not list a week ago. Also, he did not visit Iowa State, so that brings the credibility of the entire article into question.
I would actually not be surprised if he entered the NBA draft.

Yeah, that makes me wonder if academics are still an issue.
I can't figure out why these kids go to prep school instead of junior college. There is only so much that a prep school can do when dealing with a shitty high school transcript, plus they still have to take the ACT/SAT.
Going to junior college pretty much wipes the slate clean. Graduate from junior college and you are basically eligible, despite how you did in high school.

I figured out the Wagner situation, he is committed to us, but we've told him to wait a week or two. It's very possible we could see a guard leave(not Young) and that would open up a spot for him. As it is right now we're looking for a SF and PF/C, preferably Prep SF Ryan Taylor and JUCO C DJ Bennett.

Looks like you can scratch Barnett Harris off the list. According to this recent article, LSU is not listed as one of his top choices any more.
