We aren't in Pollard's final 5, but I'm leaving him on the list, because he's a spring signee and lots can happen during that time.

Even if we do get Gathers I feel like we need another big man in this class or someone like Pollard is there really anyone on our radar?

I think bigs are the top priority, but it appears Trent was not happy with the reception he was getting with the top players. He is banking on a good season to get some top players interested in LSU.
Pollard is a wing. Right now, junior college PF Orlando Sanchez is a possibility. I think if LSU has a good year, we will see a bunch of new names materialize.
Hopefully Gathers will replace Storm, but Hamilton is a senior next season and Obryant could go pro after two seasons, leaving us with no big men. That is why signing a couple of bigs is important for this class.

Do we have any idea who these players he will hope will be more interested in us in a few months are? The staff has to be laying some ground work with guys, can't just hope guys like Hickey have a huge year and can get on them later.

Besides those on the list at the beginning of this thread, no.
There are more than just late-bloomers available in the spring. Lots of top players don't sign early, so I'm sure it's a mixture of late-bloomers and trying to get involved with unsigned ranked players.
I also think LSU's recruiting may be "frozen" right now, waiting on Gathers to make a decision. There are several players at his position that LSU is recruiting, with no offer. They may be afraid to take a commitment and risk scaring him off. (this is just my opinion)

Any opinions on starting a 2013 recruiting thread? Schools are already offering 2014 and 2015 players. With the 2012 early signing period over, I think it's time.

Good point on recruiting potentially being frozen waiting on Gathers. Does seem that almost everyone we are after minus him and I believe 2 other players don't have an offer at this point. Would like to see us offer guys at other positions though to potentially sway Gathers that we have other players coming to show we are moving in the right direction.

I kind of assume with Bass leaving he would consider a PG unless he plans to use Stringer as the backup next season. Also assume he wants 2 bigs losing both White and Storm after the year. Then it also looks like he is looking for a tall 3/4 type based on who we have targeted.
Also was wondering if you see us ever offering Milburn? Or do we not want to have 4 SGs on scholarship at one time?

I don't see Milburn in this class. I think he ends up at a mid-major. I don't think he will go SEC level. I could be wrong.
I think LSU will sign 3 and save a couple for a big 2013 class. Morgan, and hopefully Gathers and another big.

Not sure if Germans, but I talked to my friend who played for Riverside (right before Gathers and Dabney decomitted) and he said that word on the street was that they'd both come to LSU. Things are lookin good!
