Hey Random have you heard any interest between LSU and N.D. pitcher Jake Findlay? I believe he is in the portal and has 2 years remaining. That would be as big a get at that position as getting Hurd.

I remember two or three years ago their class was in the top 5; maybe that's when he won assistant of the year.

Yet again, two really solid hires.

Prolly not Mooney because there's no need to even apply if you don't have at least one J for an initial. (and more's the better!)

I think someone already posted that CJJ was following Findlay on his Twitter account.

Interesting nugget according to Moscona Van Horn said Jay tried to hire his pitching coach. On a different note it’s gonna be a long several days. I wouldn’t think we hear any baseball and portal news until the draft and right after.

Josh Jordan sounds really familiar. Was he up for a good job recently maybe?

Kendall Rogers said earlier that Jordan was “in the mix for the Northwestern HC” job. So maybe that’s where you heard it.

Homie on the mascona show made it sound like the Creighton pitcher is making it to campus

Think we all want that to be true but DT’s direct interview came off differently

Frey and Jones are both athletic. They're not stiff like a Travinski. I know Joe Mauers don't grow on trees, but I'm not dismissing them as catchers at all.

Jared Jones hit the two deepest balls at the MLB draft combine. One was around 460+ ft and the other was 440+ ft. He also had four of the top 7 exit velocities. If you go look at some of the combine numbers both he and Misiorowski showed out. Misiorowski was all over the board for highest velocity and spin rate.

It was also interesting to hear him speak of romero as 50/50. He says the scouts don’t see him as a SS due to arm weakness and the bat has no pop in it. I’ll take him as a 2b

You wonder if this is just scout speak to Kiley so Romero makes it to their team, likely in the second?

It's going to come down to Romero's number

Yeah no matter what they see in him romero has his number. If he gets it he’s gone, if not come on down

I don't think he sounded like he'd sign for some powdered donuts and a coke like others have said. When I listened to the interview he said he thought he'd go higher than he did last year. Also said he wouldn't be down until after the draft. Exactly what you'd expect someone in his position to say.

This whole story of him signing for nothing has taken on a life of its own in this thread.

I don’t think so. Unless the scout is talking to a lot of people. Read multiple times that Romero is a 2B in pro ball.
