If you have time, go watch the video, he discusses every recruit
Too much info to even try and post
Very insightful

ULL scrimmage will be 16 innings (not 20) and he touched on fall practice before the recruiting info started

Cliff notes from the interview. I will try to stick to things that are not already discussed or in the players profile.

Ackenhausen - could have massive impact next year

Applebey- TE in football, 97 MPH FB

Bronzini - High priority for the staff, 3 pitches, starter potential.

Bucknam - drafted 16th round last year, good curveball

Crawford - There is fast and then there is Crawford fast. Every hits creats anxiety for the other team. game changing speed, great person

Guidry - will play two ways, twitchy and explosive. Super confident and competitive. Really excited about coming to LSU.

Herring - Video game numbers last year. High intellect, great worker, motivated.

Jones - Great size, unbelievable feel for hitting, terrific arm, leader

Kennedy - Strongly committed to LSU. Top of rotation type player.

Kling - Very, very talented. Speed, power and unlimited potential.

Misiorowski- Future MLB, your hair stands up when he throws FB.

Moffit - Big, strong, great command, excels in classroom

Neal - As a complete of player as you will find in this class. Terrific skillset, leader and very good offensively.

Noot - Electric FB, very good curve. Early contributor
.
Paul - Elite runner, 6.4 - 6.5, One of the best CF I have evaluated.

Romero - Two sisters are all americans in softball. Dad jokingly says he is the third best SS in the family. #1 rated SS in the country. Best left handed hitter in the country.

Ruddell - 2nd best player in La. behind Guidry.

Shores - One of the best pitchers in the country. Checks all the boxes, leader, character, teammate, talent.

Seravo - Best pitcher at Tx. all star game.

Snelling - 4 star LB but won't play football. 94 MPH lefty, elite competitor.

Toman - Switch hitter, great offensively and defensively. Early contributor.

Thoughts on NIL, passing on the pros - No better place in the country for NIL as a baseball player. No better place to develop. Best baseball weight room in the country, Many long term major leaguers went to college first. This class values and education. Some guys in this class will turn down big money to come to LSU. Can't get to Omaha without elite talent, so you have to take chances with big recruits.

We picked up a 2023 commit in INF/RHP MJ Seo a few minutes ago. He’s from the Dallas area. I’ll put him on the list tomorrow.

His brother is a 2025 pitcher that committed to Vandy yesterday.

Interesting that his younger brother would commit to Vandy at basically the same time.

We were recruiting the younger brother too. Him and another big time 2025 guy we were after, Dean Moss, committed to Vandy in the last couple days.

I'm starting to feel like we're close to landing another 2023 lefty. Big time kid from Maryland, Cameron Johnson. I have no inside information, I just feel like he's close to committing to us.

Yeah, I think that happened a while back but I don’t know exactly when. He has a teammmate named Cam Jones with a similar Twitter handle that just signed with Maryland. And he retweet’s a lot of stuff to congratulate that kid, so it’s been a chore trying to figure out his situation.

Ryan Sleeper from Wabash Valley committed to Nebraska today. He was another guy we were eying but after the other 4 JUCO pitchers we got I don't know how high a priority he was. I hadn't heard much about him in a while.

He was a teammate with Bollman last year and with Applebey this year. Wabash just puts out so many players it's absurd.

I was listening to Hannagriff's podcast from yesterday. I feel like this is big news and first time I've heard it, but apparently Paxton Kling has told teams not to draft him, that he wants to go to LSU no matter what.

At that point Crews could play a 5th infield spot while Crawford and Kling handle the whole outfield.

ETA: But MLB bloodlines are a big time thing for the draft. I think it's going to be tough to get Crawford to campus. Just look at how many of the current young stars of the game are kids of former major leaguers, it bumps up the profile of any draft eligible ones.

Tatis, Vlad, Bichette, Witt (not in MLB yet, but will be next year), I just feel like someone is going to be willing to pay Crawford a ton of money.

If you had a list of who you think makes it to campus could you share it. Or is it to early to tell

I think it's too early. Before an hour ago I would have said there is little chance Kling makes it to campus.

I also haven't looked at updated prospects lists lately.

The ones I think can be relevant are MLB.com, FanGraphs, ESPN (Kiley McDaniel, formerly of FanGraphs), The Athletic (Keith Law, formerly of ESPN), Prospects Live, and Baseball America.

I also will look at PG and PBR.

you LOVE to hear that. This is how you start to build that elite depth. Get a couple highly touted guys to stay around and we will start to build and build and build.

Just a couple of things I picked up on Johnson's interview. He mentioned Mic Paul as being one of the best Centerfielders he has evaluated. So if we don't get Crawford, I still feel really good about our outfield.

As far as who makes it to campus. I also noticed he spoke about the how excited Gavin Guidry and LHP Kennedy were about going to LSU. That makes me feel good about our chances with those two.

I believe Toman was mentioned as being the son of a College Coach, which should help our chances with getting him to campus.

yep you get just a couple to a few of those more polished guys to campus and it allows some of your less talented and more raw recruits to develop instead of having to get in there right away and allows you to have way more depth year to year. Feels like that's what we struggled with. Most our top guys would sign and we would scramble to fill the holes with way less talented players and then had to throw them in the fire (we weren't really doing a whole lot of development either). Bad recipe.
