Tech has never had this many commits so far into recruiting season, thanks again for Dooley
Coach Dooley is doing a great job...
I hope Dooley remains in Ruston for a few years.

[FYI - Scout.com had La. Tech's class ranked just ahead of Tulane's 22 recruits. Rivals.com has Tulane ranked ahead of La. Tech.]

Well Tech is the only other team to win a bowl game this year and recruiting class is better then anyone outside of LSU/ with Tulane being right there. I guess techincally they would be #2 heading into 09. However one year doesnt make a program, we will see if they can do it over the long haul.

Of course.

As has been posted numerous times on TD, until Tulane fails to dominate La. Tech, ULM or ULL...Tulane will remain #2 team in the state.

The Facts:
- In the last 10 seasons, Tulane and La. Tech share winning percentages of 42% and 46%, respectively. No bragging rights here...
- In that span, Tulane has had an undefeated season and 2 winning bowl appearances ('98 v. BYU; '02 v. Hawaii).
- In that span, La. Tech's best season was an 8-3 effort in '99. La. Tech has split their 2 bowl appearances ('01 v. Clemson; '08 v. N. Illinois).

- All-time, Tulane has a bowl record of: 4-6.
- All-time, La. Tech has a bowl record of: 2-2-1.
- All-time, Tulane is 8-0 v. La. Tech*...the most recent win, a 63-30 blow-out in 1998.

Winning % v. LSU (thru '07):
- Tulane...26.7% (88 games)
- ULL...0.0% (2 games)
- La. Tech...0.0% (2 games)
- ULM...0.0% (1 game)

- Of course, we won't even get into academics...

* Tulane is 2-0 v. ULM and 20-4 v. ULL (ULL's last win was in 1995, Tulane has won the last 4 games)

You forgot another category:

Hall of Fame NFL Players:
Tulane - ZERO
Tech - Terry Bradshaw, Fred Dean and soon to be Willie Roaf.

True...and La. Tech also has 7 current NFL players (2 of which are notable Ks).

Tulane only has 5 players currently in the NFL, but I'll take Mewelde Moore and Matt Forte over the entire La. Tech NFL squad.

Tulane fans remind me of pre-2008 Alabama fans in their use of completely irrelevant ancient history.

What 'ancient' history?

The data posted above is completely relevant ('09 recruiting class rankings, head-to-head records, winning % in the last 10 yrs, bowl records, etc.)

[It's not like I'm citing Tulane's SEC record, etc. - which would be irrelevant]

I said Tech is on the way to becoming the number 2 in the state. I personally think as long as Dooley is the coach they are on the upswing. I dont see that right now with Tulane, but hey best of luck. I pull for the Green Wave and most of the other teams in LA.

I think la tech is on track to be the #2 team in the state, if they aren't already, but putting ulm and ull ahead of mcneese is a joke. mcneese has played both of them in their houses over the last couple years and beat both of them. as for tulane, i would say w/o question mcneese has been a better program the last 15 years, but we'll find out this year who is better now.

Some of La. Techs two star prospects are way better than Tulanes. Tech has 7 5.4 two star prospects with 6 three star prospects. 5.5 gives u a 3rd star. So if thats what you want to base your recruiting rankings on, then go ahead. But ive looked at both Teams and ill take La. Techs size and speed at each position way over Tulane. Dooley has proved even at LSU that he is one of the best recuiters in the south. One more good year at La. Tech and the Three star number will be doubled with the addition to some 4 stars.

what, the rivals team rankings? yeah, how irrational to use the largest recruiting service's team rankings when comparing classes

like tech's 5'6" and 5'8" RB's? if you compare the size and speed listed on rivals there isn't much of a difference. tulane has 4 players that run sub 4.5 40's and tech has 5. two of tulane's OL's are also larger than any recruits tech has, although tech has definitely done better getting WR's with height. the two classes are very similar, i don't think you can necessarily say that either one is superior to the other

Tulane is in Louisiana? Really? Does anyone outside of New Orleans care?
