LSU "Fans":

The Head Coach & Athletic Director at The Woodlands High School CONFIRMS every scholarship offer for all student-athletes at that high school. He CONFIRMS the scholarship offer with the Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for the University.

Chad Lindsay has over 20 CONFIRMED scholarship offers from D-1 schools.....one of those CONFIRMED offers is from LSU.

Still doesn't debunk my Christine Michael comparison.

LSU has extended a bunch of offers but very few committable offers. I would have thought that most people that follow recruiting would know this by now. An offer won't help you much if it is not a committable offer.

Just recall the clusterfark that followed when Montrell Connor tried to commit to LSU following receipt of his "offer" last year. Yet he had an "offer" confirmed by his coach also.

that guy is probably chad's uncle or something. every single one of his posts is about the kid and how he just talked to one of chad's "relatives". don't expect any rational input on this subject from him

When an offer has been extended to a student-athlete, The Woodlands Head Coach CONFIRMS the following information from the University's Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator:

"University (insert LSU, Oklahoma, Alabama, etc.) is offering a full football scholarship. The offer of a full scholarship covers everything allowed by NCAA rules - tuition and fees, room and board and books and supplies."

The 20+ offers that Chad Lindsay has received have been CONFIRMED as FULL FOOTBALL SCHOLARSHIP offers.....including a FULL FOOTBALL SCHOLARSHIP offer from LSU.

Like I posted before, It doesn't mean it was a commitable offer. Every bigtime program offers 75+ kids to get 25. If a higher rated OG is still on our board and we feel like we can land him, the offer to the lower rated OG might not be commitable at the time.

Another thing...Capping your words doesn't mean you know WTF you're talking about.

Lindsey to BAMA
What's even funnier is how bad Bama fans want LSU fans to be distraught over a Guard that commits in April 2009 because LSU is the measuring stick for them to gauge the relevance of their program after so many years of irrelevance.

As if Lindsay is the most athletic, agile, and quickest beast on the planet.

LSU is not short of Guards after this past class and there are at least two guys from Louisiana, Mississippi just as good or better than Lindsay. Now, if you guys sign O.C. Brown out of Memphis, then I may feel something. Lindsay could very well be an open door into your backfield. Be careful with the gloating when you aren't sure what you got.

LSU is the measuring stick? Two #1 classes back to back....Bama "IS" the measuring stick. BTW please remove the "Bama fan" and A from your moniker. No such thing as a True Bengal Bama fan.

The dude probably just gave a non-binding nod to the Gumps to get his rivals ranking from three stars to five. This aint over, if LSU wants him, LSU will get him. Damn, he doesnt have to sign until February 2010!

If LSU is not your measuring stick, why does it matter so much that you got the verval of a Guard in April of 2009 that no one else in the country is making much noise about. Why didn't Texas go after him so hard?

This is the first of the 30+ recruits you will sign for 2010. You guys are recruit-whores. Why should LSU race you to a recruit?

Lastly, the icon stays until I say it goes! You don't like it, got to a Bama board!

No harm meant Maddog if Lindsey is your relative. I wish the guy well just like I wish Montrell Connor well, who also had a non-commitaable offer for a FULL ride at LSU but was unable to commit when he tried.

Even absent a committable offer from LSU, it doesn't mean the guy won't kick azz one day and become an AA and make LSU regret the day it didn't jump all over him. Personally, I think he'll be a decent 3 star player for Bama in his Jr - Sr. years. Sounds like a really good kid and I wish him well and commend him for committing early.

Most teams have close to 100 "offers" outstanding right now. Tennessee will probably have 200 "offers" outstanding before the end of the summer. Does that mean that all 100 or 200 these kids can commit? I mean they all have "offers" right?

"Offers" are conditional and are dependent on academics, position numbers, class numbers, roster numbers, further physical development, further evaluations, further discussions with the player and his coaches, ability to stay out of trouble, etc. Most offer letters include some variation of a conditional statement. High school coaches and recruits know this.

Lindsay reportedly earned his offer last summer right? Since then, LSU has added three guards to the roster for a total of eight. Only one (Hitt) graduates over the next two years. Maybe the staff is satisfied with what they already have on the roster and didn't feel the need to add another guard. Maybe they felt it was in his best interest for him get playing time to go elsewhere. Maybe he didn't grade out as high as they thought he would after his junior season. Maybe he really liked Bama better. There are endless possibilities.

The recruiting process for us fans is undeniably one-sided. That's why we rely on our "insiders" to fill in the other side, the coaches' side. It still does not give us the complete picture of what is actually going down, but having bits and pieces of both sides the process is still inherently better than having bits and pieces of only one side.

Our "insiders" began hinting that while Lindsay did in fact have an offer, the coaches might not immediately accept his commitment without further evaluation. This began over two weeks ago, before his visits, when everything still pointed heavily to LSU being the favorite to gaining his "commitment."

From everything that I've gathered, he's a good kid and will perform well wherever he ends up playing.
