4-3 not so good against spread offenses. Need more speed on defense at the mid level

I disagree. Most 43 LBs are better in coverage than traditional 34 ILB and OLB (Edge rusher). Now I would prefer running a 34 vs spread OPTION or run first spread teams.

In nickel and dime your 43 DTs usually pressure QB pretty well due to the nature of single gap assignments and muscle memory. Your 34 inside big men are taught to 2 gap, you need them to 2 gap to free LBs. Even with Aranda's 34, pressure inside was usually from a blitzing backer. At the end of the day it's how you recruit player for scheme (Jimmys and Joes). I always felt Aranda utilized traditional 43 LBs that can run sideline to sideline vs those big 34 run stuffers.

Generally the only player 2 gapping is the nose if he’s lined up in a 0. We line up in 4i a lot on the strong side so that DE is in a gap and not 2 gapping. Weakside DE in a 5 so he isn’t 2 gapping. Hell we lined up a shaded nose a lot so a good amount of the time he was just playing weakside A gap and blowing it up.
