Let's say some of the rumors of transfers and gets are true. If the team is:

PG: Hickey/Swilling
SG: Turner/Morgan
SF: Coleman/Hammink
PF: O'Bryant/Ludwig/Courtney
C: Odoh and/or Okafor

I think it makes us an 8-9 win team in the league

I have no clue whats up with Odoh, Stringer, Isaac, or Turner however. Just excited about the possibilities.

I think a player like Coleman is what this team was missing last year. I think we were a 9 SEC win team last year just with the addition of Coleman.

Now, we have lost Hamilton, so I need to wait and see who we add in the post before I make a determination.

I definitely think Swilling is a combo guard that is a 2, but can play backup minutes at the 1. He is athletic and can get to the rim, and play defense. Average shooter, but can make shots.

I'd give a ball for Hamilton to have a change of heart and come back. Imagine:

Hickey/Swilling
Turner/Morgan
Coleman/Hammink/Courtney
O'Bryant/Ludwig
Hamilton/Udoh

Well, it looks like a better line up then we have had. However, we don't know how this up tempo style will work with our existing players. Could be better could be worse. Since John Brady got to BR, we basically have been extremely one dimensional half court team. As painful as that is to watch, we don't know if completely changing that is going to lead to better results at least not right away. With that roster I feel like we have a 10 - 6 team in the SEC and probably be really strong against most of our OOC teams we play.

If we some how get Okafor, I'd be just as happy as if Hamilton came back. To me Okafor is just what we need in a big if we are going to go up tempo. Someone that can run the floor, play great D, and Rebound. I'll be ecstatic if we land him.

Morgan and Hammink both have nice strokes and are capable shooters, they're no JJ Reddick's though

That lineup excites me. I think we could get up to 11-12 wins with that lineup.

Any chance any of our SG/SF redshirt?

Seems like a log jam with:

JR: Shavon Coleman
JR: P Swilling
JR: Ralston Turner
JR: Andre Stringer
SO: Isaac
FR: M Morgan
FR: Lil Geert

I guess we can expect at least one to transfer (Stringer/Turner/Isaac).
Coleman, Turner, and Swilling won't/can't redshirt.
Maybe Isaac or Hammick (would make most sense IMO)
Doubtful Morgan would, it think he's expected to and expects to come in and contribute

A few people in this thread of mentioned the possibility of Hamilton coming back. Is there really a chance of this happening or is this just for fun?

Hamilton is not coming back! You can pretty much take that to the bank.

Without Hamilton it's still going to be an uphill battle for us. But based on our recent commits alone, we're a hell of a lot more athletic than we've been in a while. Something this team, particularly on the defensive side, has missed.

if Jones can stop hickey and stringer from wasting possessions by taking 25 footers with 30 seconds left on the shot clock then we'd already be a whole lot better than last year imo..

no they haven't. I just said I'd give a testicle for him to change his mind. There is no indication that he's even considered it.

hickey didn't really throw up many wild shots early in the shot clock. when he did it usually hit bottom

Watched the Talbot kid from Ellender HS go against a 6'10" 280 Jaleel Couisins this weekend in New Orleans and he destoryed him. Holding Couisins to 4pts and 4 rebounds. Talbot scored 22 points with 20 rebounds.
