Preach. I might sound like a big butthurt baby but I don't give a rats arse. Between Collins, Devall, Toshiro, and Chester I've been beaten into submission. It's nearly impossible for me to get excited or have blind optimism about potential big commitments anymore. :sigh: I need this class to be a 180 turn around from last year to recapture my lost enthusiasm about recruiting. Also shows how spoiled we've become

Last year was tough just because of the bad shite that happened in quick succession, obviously including losing the national championship. So I do understand the sentiment, even though we recruited at a high level and last year's class was underrated. Had we not upgraded the recruiting staff with the addition of Henry and Raymond, I'd be less enthusiastic. But we did, and we're primed for a big season. I think you will have a lot to be excited about this recruiting cycle in the end.

He certainly seems as though he could develop into a great QB.

Vids I watched, the guy has incredible touch on the longer throws.

Problem with this thread is that head coaches aren't allowed on the road during the spring eval period. So if Les is there then he is committing a violation. This is called the Saban rule. Kind of discounts the purpose doesn't it? Is Bateman worth probation?

If the visit occurred earlier in the year like early March then it's still irrelevant.

It actually just shows you don't follow recruiting.

Not only did he tell it to my friend but he told it to a group of about 20 guys. Never mentioned any names just said he's been in Utah recruiting a QB. Les knows the rules, if he broke them he would not have been prancing around spillin the beans. It's fine.

I'm with ya'll. I'm usually more excited about recruiting but these days it doesn't seem like a commitment means shite anymore until these guys actually sign their LOIs. There's so many guys out there that will just string a staff along and then screw you at the last second.

Regardless, I'm hoping Les and co. can do solid work this year. Keep the Alabama midget from poaching our LA top talent and bring in a good class.

Stick to the South Les, faraway QB recruits usually get homesick,ie.ND.

Not really. A high profile commit. is still a half arse commit until they sign. Most follow through but LSU has had a few fall through the cracks. It's cool to see them declare but I don't get excited until NSD. The word "commitment" is a little overused these days and it's more present preference.

Wasn't trying to imply that your friend was being untruthful. Was just stating that head coaches aren't allowed to recruit kids off campus during the Spring eval period(April 15-May 31). I'm one that is fully supportive of bending rules so I'm okay with it but again i ask is a longshot like Bateman worth a violation? We're currently on probation and i'd think until it's over this summer we'd like to stay within the rules. Maybe it's just me.
