Didn't make sense to me either.

I can't either. I'm on my phone.

Well check it out when you get a chance. Of course Gerald is a very young kid and I take what he says with a grain of salt.

MO, the Saban to Tx or PSt talk is laughable. Alabama is the best job he'll get because of the talent base due to location. He won't find that kind of size and speed mix anywhere else and he knows that.
You do realize that Saban only gets 8 to 9 players from Alabama each year, right? And that's after fighting for the other half of them that eventually end up at Auburn.
Saban is forced to recruit OOS. So that's roughly 20 players each year from other states that he has to sell on the process, and convince them their in-state school doesn't offer them what Bama can. While he has had great success doing so, that's got to be a major pain in the arse.
Even if the Tex/PSU rumors aren't true, the in-state recruiting pool in those states would take far less effort than he has to put forth to get a great class at Bama.

Bingeaux.
Mack Brown just let's them come to him.
Penn has a great pool in Pa., plus Ohio and the East coast.
Ala. only WISHES it had the talent pool LSU draws in state, with little in the way of successful poaching.
PSU/ UT = more $, less effort, same or better prestige as Ala., wihtout the meth fueled mulletheads.

BAMA dips into GA and the FL panhandle quite a bit as well as a few in NJ and OH.

I'm not too sure Penn or Bama have much of an advantage over one another but Texas= yes. Saban has never been loyal and he can a lot of money at Texas. And as well as the longhornd recruit now if Saban went there he wouldn't even have to recruit. He could just about sign who he wanted.

The last day to declare is the ides, makes the picture pretty clear.

Maybe he wants to see what happens in the BCSNCG?
I can't see how this would help make the choice any easier for where a kid wants to play. I can see the after game publicity playing into a kids decision, but just can't see "who won" being a deciding factor.

Al that he said is that his parents have told him that he does NOT "have" to make a decision at the game just because he has been saying he was going to. He says that takes pressure off of him not to feel obligated just because of expectations.
If his parents truly want him to go to LSU as people on this board have said, and he's currently leaning to Bama (with LSU making up ground) its makes perfect sense. His parents would prefer he take time to make the "correct" decsion rather than make a decsion they may disagree with just to hit a timeline...
I think this IS an advantage for LSU

If he delays he's certain to be in P&G. Conversely, if he waits and picks Bama he screws us more by taking time that we could use on a guy like Bush. I think in the end family >>>>>>>> high school squeeze.

man its been said that PSU isn't gonna offer a top salary they think that the prestige of the school the coach should be grateful for about a mil a year.
Texas just extended Brown's contract for a long time.
All this speculation that Saban is leaving is b.s.
People hope this every year imo Saban will retire at Bama why would he leave the situation he is in?

I really do hope family & friends > gf because he seems pretty obsessed with her.

if he doesn't want to go to LSU he's basically a fricking moron. We do better with DBs, he'll always have a job here, he'll be close to his family...

It makes no sense if he goes to bama. He lives 30 minutes from campus and will be in front of all his friends and family.

some guys just want to get away. it happens. i won't sweat it either way. dudes a stud but LSU has 20-30 guys just like him.

Could be the reason he is looking elsewhere. Some kids want to get away from home.

as much as i hate projecting high school players to college which makes your statement pretty invalid.
Their is no way LSU has 30 players like him.

LSU does. They may not have been as SEC-ready as Collins is out of highschool but a year of practice, conditioning, and weight training for your average 4* prospect is far greater than a 5* prospect who is a man among boys in highschool.
It's an equalizer. Collins is a phenomenal prospect but he's not like Clowney was.. or Julio Jones.. or Trent Richardson, etc. True freaks vs a great prospect.

Calm down, man. He's a kid. Don't type stuff like that about a 17 year old with a lot of talent and a lot of choices. Not cool. He's a Louisiana boy and I wish him all the best wherever he goes.
