so does this Flanders cat have inside info on Owens really being a possible LSU commit?

He is very much a possible commit come signing day. Les Miles and Co. will roll out the red carpet on his official visit and show him that Baton Rouge is just as much his home as Bessemer, AL.

Well, that IS and WILL be the deciding factor. That's why I say Les must make him feel at home and show him that his team would be his brothers and Les his father figure.

What I don't like is his uncle pressuring him to Auburn, but it seems like it is starting to work against him. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying Owens is a lock to LSU.

We will know more in a few months and the picture will be much clearer, that's when things will begin to open up imo.

ETA: I will not be shocked/surprised to see him in purple and gold.

Ryneaux - You may be right, but I'm not buying it :) I think Dyer is ours. I think Reed is yours. I think Seastrunk is still AU lean, but whatever, you know. For us, it's the Coach Luper factor that brings him to Auburn, as well as the fact that his momma loves AU. But, honestly, I want big OL moreso than RBs right about now. And considering our LB situation as we speak, I'll take Owens too, which I think should happen.

you're exactly right, it should happen and if it doesn't, that would be pretty sad.

If a university was named after my son, I'd like that university too!!! Needless to say, I sure think Lache may be enjoying this whole process, you think? Good grief.

We are all just glad Lache lives in Texas and not Alabama because the sight of Curtis in them stunnas getting out of that hummer during the Tiger prowl would have made the difference with any kid.

I don't think we were ever done at LB. We really wanted Michael Taylor but he went all orange on us so now we are moving our love to LaDarius.

I actually think the name is kickass. Darius was just not good enough for this guy. LaDarius. It adds a touch of class.

He's gonna be a monster at DE this year for the Purple Tigers, they sat their arse at the house come playoff time with a 7-3 record. They seem to be way ahead of last year and very hungry They will be one of the thinnest teams as far as depth so LaDarius has a chance to put up monster numbers against the largest classification in Bama. Sucks that Super Six is held in Bryant Denny this year so he has a great chance at playing there in December. Will see if this impacts his recruitment although he has indicated he may commit early.

If him and Seastrunk end up at LSU what shape would that leave AU in? I can only imagine the meltdown that would occur on the message boards.

When they played Pelham in this year's spring game he had 4 sacks, nobody could block him. He also went on to injure both of our runningbacks.

ESPN reporting likely visit now.

Auburn, Alabama still lead for LaDarius Owens, others in the mix

ESPNU 150 defensive end LaDarius Owens (Bessemer, Ala./Lanier) still has Auburn and Alabama at the top of this list, but isn't ready to end the recruiting process yet, affiliate Web site AuburnUndercover.com reports.

"Auburn and Alabama, I have been there a dozen times each, and I just want to see the other places I don't know about," he said. Florida State and LSU are two programs expected to receive consideration.

Owens hopes to have his official visits completed by the end of November. He may attend games at Alabama and Auburn but will not officially visit.
