I know this isn't going to surprise anyone because most CB's were pointing to Florida but it's official Chester committed to Florida. I was hoping we would snag him I think he is going to be a stud wherever he goes, just wish he was a Tiger.

He's going to be a solid football player for them.

Coaches didn’t think he fit our scheme defensively. I’m fine with not getting him I like our current DB’s committed, and he would have been a waste of another valuable spot imo.

Not surprised or let down by this. His tweet signaling his commitment said he was committing to "DBU" lmao

Actually they offered him at camp in June, we just filled up in the next 2 days with Miller and Flott committing to make #4 and #5 DBs in the class. At that point, ship had sailed for Kimbrough.
The knocks on Kimbrough are size (5'10.5, 168) and speed (ran a laser 4.8 at a camp)...but he's performed well in camps overall.

best wishes to the young man.
Would have been nice to have him at LSU.... the real DBU

Yes they offered him I know... Still wasn’t a great fit for our defensive scheme and that was said by multiple people. A 4.8 forty? You think that’s laser? That isn’t good at all for a CB dawg. Plus his size that you mentioned lacks as well. We didn’t want him THAT bad.

That isn't good for a linebacker

Exactly. Lmao not sure why some people are thinking a 4.8 is a 4.4.

I'm not saying we pressed him hard to commit, but they offered for a reason. Kimbrough made a name for himself in camps this offseason, once he showed out in front of our coaches too, they offered, simple as that. He still has the knocks of size and speed, but bottom line he's a football player and performed well. Just watch the film on him in camps, he did well here, really good at point of attack. Not every good corner will be 6'1 200 and run a 4.4.
They would have taken a commitment from him had he committed at that camp, but when Flott and Miller committed, they simply filled up. He also wanted no part of a very large DB class.
The 4.8 was at an opening camp so definitely laser, he had it scratched. Who knows why, slower than he thought ot maybe not 100%. Trey Palmer ran a 4.71 at one camp (was hurt) then a 4.5 later on at another, both opening laser timed.

shite I thought you just meant as in his 40 was a very fast time. Not that it was laser timed. I agree we would have taken a commitment from him, but I like our guys currently committed better. I just don’t think he would have done much here.

Yeah, reading comprehension wasn't your strong suit right there dawg!

The way he said it anyone could have gotten that mixed up. Just like the user who said a 4.8 forty isn’t good for a linebacker. Shut up dumbass. How about that dawg?!?!
Posted on 8/14/18 at 3:00 pm to TheTexasTiger7
Not sure how anyone could mix up the "knocks" on a player

All I see is (he ran a laser 4.8 at camp). Christ everyone calm down.

solid pickup for Florida, didn't have a committable offer from LSU

Ali Highsmith ran like a 5 second 40. Lol but he played faster with pads bc his instincts.

I swear to God I knew who posted this without even looking. If you aren't a top 50 player in the country ole boy wants nothing to do with you
You gotta get out of that mindset man. 3 and 4 stars ball out and dominate every single year. There are tons of 3 star players that just never participated in the 7 on 7 circuit and played on a small town team and never really got seen by the right eyes.
DJ Chark was on a TERRIBLE Alexandria team and was barely a 3 star. Dude was one of the best athletes on the field the second he showed up. How long have you been following recruiting closely? Be honest. I ain't here to insult or anything man, just curious.

Being completely honest I have been following recruits closely for 6 or 7 years now. I started young. I’m just 17 so I guess for me I’m big on the whole get huge high rated guys. I do 100% know what I’m talking about when it comes to this stuff, just as much as the most knowledgeable guys on this board. I was just giving my opinion about Kimborough I honestley didn’t want him. I know guys can be vastly underrated and I see we have a lot of those guys in this class, and in previous classes. Just my honest opinion about Kimborough nothing against his star rating, just don’t think he will turn out incredible. Could turn out to be wrong. We’ll see.

On Lazer Kardell Thomas ran a 6.1 , SO what does that tell ya?
