Ya, it is for sure. THis is no different from any other year. A guy commits, everyone talks about him. As more guys commit, we establish a position in the team rankings. It gets talked about whether its good or bad. People would be excited about what's going on right now whether Coach O is the coach, Lane Kiffin, Les Miles, or whoever. Dude is melting because he thinks Coach O backers are rubbing it in, when in reality its just conversation during a dead time in the offseason. There is nothing else to talk about.

I mean, the guy basically said that the rankings don't really matter right now. I kind of agree.

of course they matter. It reflects the quality of kids that have committed to LSU. Why wouldn't that matter? the frick you on the recruiting board for? what should people be talking about right now?

Team rankings when every team has very different quantities of players on board are pretty useless. It reflects the quantity of players more than the quality at this stage.

I think average ranking is where we should look moreso.

To talk about our individual recruits and prospects? There are a lot of things to discuss outside of team rankings in June

Whatever, I'm just saying that bragging about our #3 class right now is kind of silly. The whole list will look completely different and with us having more than most at this point, our ranking will not be this high when its all said and done most likely.

I like this LB pickup though. Seems underrated and like a physical player. I trust Aranda completely at that position.

and dude is whining about team rankings in a thread about a particular commitment

no need to over think this. People will talk about team rankings no matter who the coach is. this isnt some Coach O conspiracy. He's been doing the same shite on the rant. Coming from the dude that is quick to post about team rankings and commits in softball and woman's basketball and shite. No need to come unhinged about this

Since McCallum is "just" a 3 star, should they not have offered him but instead have offered a 4 or 5 star who had worse film and looked worse in the summer camps and faired worse in the staffs own evals?

You are assuming that we have a choice to pick between McCallum or a 4/5 star and chose McCallum.

The other, and more likely scenario, is that he was our best realistic option

This class is leaving even the best behind.

Our staff is balls to wall doing their best to out recruit and out maneuver everyone they can.

They are putting more effort into this than I ever figured. Almost as if their jobs are depending on it.

frick Bama, Ohio St, Auburn, Texas AM, etc..

I trust Aranda over any recruiting site. I hope you do too.

After watching his film I can honestly say I don't give a damn about stars. The guy is a freak.

that makes no sense and is in fact just stupid considering numbers will be tight as they always are and that it is just june and signing day is 6 months away. If the staff wasn't high on him they wouldn't have made the offer, especially not this early in the process.
