Just a positive thought about next year.

Imagine having a freshman DL of Jaquelin Roy, Jordan Burch and Jacobian Guillory. We really have a chance next year to start getting back to the old dominating LSU defensive lines of the 2000’s. Glen Logan, Neil Farrell and Apu Ika should be the starters at the start of the season but any one of those freshmen could take a starting spot at any time.

Yeah Shelvin isn't coming back in my opinion. Has arguably been the best player on the defense and guys that big usually break down faster than normal. He'll go start making money as soon as he can.

And Korey Foreman may be visiting for the A&M game and it's been said he wants to play with Maason Smith. The future is bright on the D-line.

Will watch him play in playoffs Friday and will report back. I’ve seen 2 games this year and dude is an absolute disrupter on the DL. Constantly in the backfield.

I’m sure you meant that Shelvin will start, but I think Shelvin will be in the NFL.
A better lesson to draw from your post is that Shelvin was rated as high as the average of these guys, and it was his third year before we could count on him. You can’t count on freshmen on the defensive, or especially offensive, lines.
