Just from the video posted in this thread, he reminds me of Preston Dial from Alabama. I like the pick-up as well.

We need TEs who can catch so I like it, welcome Mr. Stokes

Thanks, but it seems like he could have gotten more than 4 catches all year long

He had 4 catches in 3 games.

If used correctly, guys like this are mandated for a power running scheme. Similar to what LSU did last year to great success, use these big bodies and bulldoze it down teams throats.

He will need to learn better technique. He does not use his hands well and mainly uses his body as a battering ram to basically run into and push guys around. That works fine against these JUCO guys but SEC guys will slip away and be gone...they have too much athleticism, quickness, and speed. He needs to grab and wire the guys as well as push them.
Edit: That did not sound right. He does at times...his technique is inconsistent, thats all. The ability is there.
The measurables look right to me. He does not look quite as large as Clemaw and Clemaw is 6'5" 255.

Well, we definitely need TE help. I wonder what this means for Desean Smith.
Posted on 5/26/12 at 6:52 pm to deuce985
It means nothing, we always were going to take 2 or maybe even three TEs in this class. It was probably supposed to be Dobard and Smith but we'll be fine with Desean and this guy. Nice balance between pass catching and blocking.

Was at the "picnic" or we got to him some other way, and as far as Smith, he should commit or just be "tigerbait".. It's one or the other!!

Barbecue, JUCO TEs, coaching up Deangelo Peterson and Mitch Joseph...is there anything this man can't do?

I know nothing about the guy. If the staff wants him I like him.

Logan could benefit tremendously from a red shirt year. Last year was his first year playing TE, played DE in high school. Give him a RS year in a SEC program and he could do a lot of things.

He's related to Bennie Logan, so it works for me

You must not remember the old al jones/al woods being related meme on here

It looks like he went from 6'2" 200 as a HS defensive end in Muschle Shoals, AL (I wonder if he played for Curley Hallman?), to a 6'4" 240 TE in JUCO.
That's a significant weight gain over the course of a year.
