I'm not going to research the names...maybe someone else can.. but they have put out their share of players

My point is that New Orleans and the surrounding area is obviously the biggest recruiting hot bed in the state, and probably the best of the smaller "big cities" in the country ...Curtis has a tradition bigger than any in that city and recruits some of the areas top talent to play for them...

Saying we can just say "frick 'em" and write them off for the future is just dumb

name one better

he has perfect CB size, can run, good ballhawk. can return punts as well or play WR if he has too

but the way LA people reacted over Joe McKnight, i doubt Jonthan would want to play for LSU.

Let him go out of state. He will have to get a lot bigger and better to play in the SEC anyway.

I really don't get it. If Jonathan McKnight is good enough to get an offer to come here and wants to come here, I say we take him. He's not Joe McKnight and to give him love or hate because he goes to a certain high school or because he's someones brother is just stupid.

Also, J.T. Curtis works to get his kids schollys to college, wherever it may be. We have gotten plenty of J.T. Curtis' talent over the years. The only ones we wanted that we missed out on was Joe McKnight and Ryan Watson. (Again, I don't think we offered Green, English or Smith) We have offered and signed C. Stewert, J. Spadoni, J. Seven, V. Russell, J. Carter and C. Jackson.

Vinson, among others

either way, I think the best CB prospects for LSU this year will be out-of-state kids...TX and FL have some big ones we'll be on ...don't think Louisiana has a vintage selection of CBs this coming year

Vinson will end up at safety, IMO.

seems like you could be right... seems like more of a natural FS

either way, I think there are a handfull of kids in TX and FL who we have a realistic opportunity to land who are better prospects at that position than anything Louisiana is putting out

I wonder if he was turned off by the some of the relentless crap Joe got from those who wanted him to attend LSU.

Joe didnt want to come to LSU, what makes you think Jonathan did?
Even had LSU fans not had a meltdown would that have really influenced his decision in any way?
Looks like theres more at work here than meets the eye.

From what I've heard and read LSU was certainly in the running starting early on until about December. The longer the recruiting process lasted, the more comments from LSU fans wore thin on him. He reportedly was inceasingly turned off by the comments that he should go to LSU.

Thats fricking retarded.

Then what was Joe told that all the other top LA recruits have not been to told to "turn them off" over the past 10 years? LSU pretty much never loses someone they want instate, if they have a legit shot at them. LSU never had a shot at Joe. He was all USC since his JR. year.

Why is so difficult to believe that the #1 player in the nation, the most coveted recruit in LA in recent memory, got relentless pressure and idiotic comments from some of the nutjobs down here--and that he was turned off by it?
