Imagine being a top recruit and only going to the school that guarantees your older brother gets guaranteed playing time.
Nobody will agree to that except for teams that are desperate.
That's also embarrassing for Max. It just shows he can't get the job done himself so he has to leverage his younger brother to get any playing time.

Imagine needing a talented quarterback, and getting a top TE as an added bonus.
