meh, the top 15 FBS schools have similar attractions so LSU is not as attractive as it once was.

Baton Rouge declining is much more important than a 3 game losing streak

Our gripe with LSU in the Underwood situation shouldn't be, and likely isn't, about us choosing not to give 3 million per, with the player holding all power in renegotiations yearly, to Underwood but instead with the incessant talk that we'd match any offer made. They lied plain and simple. That doesn't imply they made the wrong decision.

This is the second time that you have expressed angst concerning the "will match any offer" platitudes in different threads.

Who exactly are you angry with: LSU, LSU's coaching and recruiting staffs, or the wonks that work for the recruiting sites?

LSU and the coaching & recruiting staffs are precluded by NCAA by-laws from publically discussing or commenting on all aspects of recruiting potential student athletes until after said athlete has signed with the school (including the mere mentioning of a prospects name). Violation of said by-laws would eliminate LSU from being eligible to recruit the prospect that is the subject of said violation of said by-laws. Logically, this is a risk that LSU's staff would not have taken.

Additionally, school officials and/or employees are still barred by NCAA by-law from discussing NIL directly with prospects.

Therefore, the only conclusion is you are mad about being lied to by the recruiting sites. Caveat emptor.

The reality of the situation is that Michigan had to double the amount offered by LSU to get Underwood to renege on his commitment to LSU and that, as you delineated, was an excessive over-payment.
