to answer the question,

no, because O is a d.line coach too. he will be working with d. line as well.

It is already causing LSU to lose recruits. Obviously having a position coach who is too old to actually go out and recruit is going to hurt you in recruiting.

If Thomas can recruit on his behalf and is allowed a waiver from teh NCAA, it is a great setup.

High school age kids don't know who the hell Jenkins is. Brings absolutely 0 to the table recruiting wise.
