They are jumping off of Bobby's sinking ship:

their 2010 class is ranked as #37th right now.
Could LSU use any of these guys?

South Carolina DT Corey Miller, Pahokee CB Merrill Noel and Georgia OT Ed Christian backed out of commitments recently. Miller is going to Tennessee, Noel to Wake Forest and Christian has re-opened his process.

"I would bet the farm that every school is pouncing on FSU right now," Rivals.com national recruiting analyst Jamie Newberg said Wednesday. "Certainly that's not fair, but in reality that's how this game is played."

Wouldn't mind looking at Darious Cummings either.
What about this kid: LINK He's a Rivals 250 guy north of Jackson and East of Monroe. Why no interest?

'Noles commit Tavaris Barnes wants to take five official visits
Defensive lineman Tavaris Barnes (Jacksonville, Fla./First Coast) isn't entirely sold on Florida State at this point, ESPN affiliate Web site TheBigSpur.com reports.
"I don't really know about Florida State right now," Barnes said. "I would say I'm a soft commitment right now. Their season is a little part of that but the biggest is the communication. I haven't heard from Florida State in a month and a half now. They are still my team, but I just don't know right now about them."
"I'm still going to take all five (visits)," he added. "Florida State, North Carolina, Clemson, South Carolina, and probably Georgia Tech would be the five right now. I might take the Florida State one during the season and take the others after my season. I'm still undecided right now though."
Barnes, who's registered 30 tackles and five sacks this fall, currently has North Carolina in second position behind Florida State.

ceto... so a kid gives a verbal to play at a school for a coach and then the coach isn't going to be there and the kid is a quitter for not honoring his commitment to that coach??? I don't think so.

That was dumb. you knew it when u hit submit. If a kid committs to a school or coach and all of sudden its a different coach with different plan or agenda, He should stay. No way. He has to live there for 4-5 years, in a situation that isnt what he originally agreed to.
That would be like taking a job makin $20 hour. telling them you will be there monday, but they will have new management in a month that pays you $6. Would you keep that committment? I wouldnt

Every kid in the country with a brain knows that Bowden wasn't going to be there for 4-5 more years. They got a "coach-in-waiting"..

They know fisher is in waiting you all make a good point at what you are saying but from were i see it they are a bunch of ship jumpers like when LSU won the national championship recruits were coming from all over the place. Then they have a down year only the die hard LSU kids come thats what iam saying win are lose make your own legacy

Is this your first time to take an interest in recruiting? Did you know that after our 8-5 season that we had the #1 recruiting class in the nation and possibly the best LSU history.

The problem is not that this is a "Bobby Bowden" sinking ship.
The problem is they have disrespected Bobby Bowden. Then, to further complicate the situation, prior to this year of having people disrespect Bowden, the horrific decision of hiring a "Head Coach in Waiting".
But wait, it gets worse. Without having enough foresight to wait until Bowden retires to hire someone when they could probably have their choice of the best, they hire the "Head Coach in Waiting" by the name of Jimbo Fisher.
Tell me, if you are a recruit, would you play for Jimbo Fisher, Randy Shannon at Miami, Urban Meyer at Florida, or even Jim Leavitt at South Florida? I tell you....the last choice is Jimbo Fisher.
So, to wrap this up, this is not a Bowden sinking ship but rather a Florida State sinking ship.

FSU's biggest problem isn't there coach, it's there conference. All the big time recruits know the SEC is the best, so thats where most of them go. The ACC is a basketball conference anyway.
