mama had J-Mac at 15.

That's why his grandmother is such a big influence as well, she raised him and his mother at the SAME time.

And to think someone would take advice from some people is beyond me.

I'm not sure what to believe anymore in the world of recruiting.

This sentence was awfully telling to me though:

quote:

Since July, he and his family have provided a reporter for the New York Times with exclusive access to his recruitment, a journey that often divided McFarland and his mother.

Think this Mom loves the drama?

I could seriously see "J-Mac" being a huge bust. He seems like a good person, but he is a mama's boy that will have a hard time adjusting to college life imo.

He continued: “The attitude of the people at the party was that everyone should drink or not come to the party. Drugs were prevalent with no price attached.”

Damnstrong party.

Seems like the UT rumor of his mom not letting the UT coaches visit was true

The decision was done, she was just mad at her son, and just said, don't call anymore it won't do any good type attitude

OU

I just don't like stoops, he is kinda of a baby

Urban is going to hand him is butt, and it will be about the 5th big game BCS in a row OU has dropped.

Stoops will labeled the coach that can't get it done anymore...

lets see.....girls on lap, big no no

topless, bottomless girls sniffing blow off each others labia......slightly frowned upon.

Big brother in jail, along with various uncles. How is Mom still so sure of her instincts?

Brown is getting smarter and smarter if you ask me. I am pretty sure the "who's house is nicer" line is BS.

Plus, wouldn't you act a little "Dry" after a loss in a big game?

Some of u really need to stfu..sound like a bunch of females in a hair salon. If I was a recruit..readin this thread. I would eliminate LSU, after readin some of the things y'all say about mcfarlands mom.

what does that have to do w/ other recruits? If you'd eliminate LSU b/c of this thread, you're just as big a headcase as J-Mac's mom

If Mom wanted a low profile, she shouldn't have invited the freaking NY Times to chronicle her son's recruitment.

Is it not a fair question to ask why Mom would want the NY Times to capture their version of the story?

What a baby. You can't have it both ways. His mom sounds like a real work of art. The "my son is perfect" type. Good riddance.

his mom is completelt awful. doesnt she know its not her decision? its not about her. "j-mac" should be able to go where ever he wants-- not where mom is ok with. seems like she wants the spotlight, hence the inside track on his recruitment from the freakin NY times-- not exactly a local lufkin paper.
quote:

Cons for LSU...girls sitting in recruits laps, Les didn't charm mama, and players have a maid clean their room once a week
sounds like she found whatever she could to slap LSU down.

you know, hes a great player and a great kid. it stings to lose him when we all thought we had a shot at him, but sometimes, like landing RP, you get more than you bargain for and not getting the star recruit can be a blessing in disguise(colt mccoy anyone?)

Crazy shite. Mom sounds...tough to deal w/. It's also even more evident that internet bs does get back and can effect the recruiting process. Hope the idiot LSU fans whining about RR doesn't get to that point.

Seriously. It's a bit absurd.
