my take: would've loved to have this kid in purple and gold. But he needs to go where he wants to go. Don't like the fact he and his family "lied" about his commitment to LSU, but put yourself in his shoes. You're trying to decide your future, and you have all these LSU fans hounding you. Maybe you tell them what they want to hear, to get them off your back. The kid owes Joe Q. LSU fan NOTHING. It's HIS future. Are all the kids we signed from out of state "traitors" to their state schools?

Regarding Janzen Jackson, he can go frick himself.

Regarding his father, he can go eat penguin shite.

Nothing more to say about either of these two.

SabanHater, I don't need to justify myself but I have played for probably one of the most successful football coaches in LA, @ St. Martinville, and have learned many things from him and watched his every move and he would have never done this. He coached one of LSU's most prolific players in Early Doucet and he never tried to use him to get ahead. A matter of fact I played on his first State Championship team in 1981 and a few years later he was offered a job at LSU if Garland Jean Batiste would sign with them and he turned it down. That is what integrity is about. I also have coached for over 20 years and I do whatever is best for the kid not me. So you can just shut the hell up with your smartass comments because it should always be about the kid not about the parent. Anyway you look at it he is a scumbag for using his own son to get ahead. Does he not have enough confidence in his ability to land a job on his own?

The kid has a 3.1 gpa. What's his major? Maybe Tenn fits into that better. Still, he should have let LSU know sooner. That's a lot of pressure for a 17 year old kid.

Some of you guys just do not get it...For over two weeks, JJ and his prick Dad lied to LSU...It is fine if JJ wants to go to Tenn, but he should have told LSU...Lance used his son to find a better job...I do not see how yall can defend JJ and his dad...They Lied, flat out lied for over two week...Here is a question for all - If Lance does not get a promise of a job and is living and coaching in Lake Charles, where do you think JJ is playing ball next year - LSU - Face it - Lance and JJ lied to LSU...I do not care if he is your friend or not...Ask them a question - If JJ knew for two plus weeks that he was in love with Tenn - why he did not decommit - Why

Very nice creds. The point I was trying to make, and if you are a coach I would think you should understand is that it is distrubing to me to see grown men take cheap and childish shots at a kid and a man they don't know. I do know Lance and he has never given me any reason to dislike or doubt him, quite the oposite. If he did indeed use Janzen for his benefit then I am very disapointed. I don't think he needs any help getting a job, but don't think for a minute he wasn't offered help from the other schools that were after Janzen. I don't know Ogeron or the Kiffins's and I must say I'm not impressed with either, and maybe Al Davis was right for once since 1978. Any way I'm done talking about it becasue I don't know enough about the big picture and you guys don't know Lance so it's a lose lose situation. Hopefully he'll realize that he did wrong and be better for it.

Considering Orgeron's role in all this, to think there were many on here who wanted The Ogre at LSU! Holy dumbshits, Batman!

Sabanhater72,
If you think it's ok for a father-son tandem to blind side LSU, lie and say JJ is a solid committment a day before LOI day, then not return Coach Miles' phone calls, in order to assist LSU, then you simply are not a true fan who bleeds purple and gold. Land and JJ both played LSU.

Like I have said at least 20 times now, I do not think it is right to play a school or another kid like that. I love LSU and have been a fan since birth. I would have loved to see JJ come to LSU so I could watch play more often. I haven't had a chance to talk to Lance since signing day, and you just don't throw someone you've known your whole life under the bus wihtout talking to them.

sabanhater, I don't think it's fair to trash a kid who has made a big, big mistake in not choosing LSU; I do think it's fair to criticize a father who let's his son screw over another school which has been fair and honest with your kid. I also think there's even money that Jackson's father ends up at UT as an assistant. ONce that happens, we'll all know that neither the kid nor his father treated LSU with the respect the program and its coaches deserve. If that happens, I hope they grow to like Hillbilly land because they're really hurt themselves with the folks in their home state...but hey, we get to play UT real soon & it'll be up to the Tigers to show the Jacksons just how big of a mistake it was.

You won't throw him under the bus but you will continually defend him when all signs point to him being a slimeball liar (in this instance at least).

Eh, whatever ethics means nothing to these guys anymore. Do whatever it takes to get ahead and hope karma doesn't come around and bite you in the rear.

I'm not reading this whole thread.

But I'm curious, does anyone know how Darren Myles feels about this?
Maybe he was in on it?
Maybe he committed to Tenn thinking JJ would commit to LSU?
Maybe he feels screwed committing to Tenn instead of LSU?

I don't care if the kid likes another school...what I don't like is the fact that he knew 2 weeks before NSD and didn't say anything until after NSD....what's the point in that? To avoid the backlash? Well, what do you think he's getting now???? He basically ruined their family name in LA.

Trust me if Lance shows up at UT in a few years I will be eating my words. You guys are right, it does look bad, really bad. No matter ehat the reasons were I don't think it was right the way it was handled. But we have to face the fact that this is how the game is played, you read about it every year at other schools.

I don't know OJ.
Should I reserve taking "shots" at him?

I don't know the 17 y/o kid who murdered UNC's student body president.
Should I have no opinion about him?

On the other hand, a colleague of mine knew a particular woman very very well.
She was his wife. Several folks told him she was "misbehaving" (a lot!). He said they were wrong. He said she was not that kind of person. He explained things away, and said they didn't know her. He did know her. He thought he knew her well . . . . . . He was wrong.

I do know that if something looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and swims like a duck - - - it's very likely a duck.

This Guidry-Kiffin-Jackson situation is a duck!
