I still say what mom says goes. The mother will win out.

Why is this any more believable than his dad telling him to go to OU and him doing so?

I cannot begin to imagine what this young man is going through! Some of ya'll are telling him to man up. If he grew up in a family where respect is a top priority, do you expect him to "man up" with his father in a forceful way? His parents are a huge influence in his life and knowing he will disappoint one of them has got to be agonizing.
Then he thinks he's made a decision that's best for him, and his Dad goes on the radio and blasts one of his top schools (and maybe the one he chose). No 18 year old should have to go through that. I can't begin to imagine what he must be feeling at this point.
It's easy to judge the situation because we have no personal stake in it. I pray he prays on this tonight and does what is best for him and his family. After all, we would have him for three or four years - his family is with him for a lifetime.
Good luck Rueben!

Dad wants his 15 minutes of fame too, if he can't be an athlete, why not live vicariously through one?

Haven't any of you heard the saying "If the Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody Happy!
Ole dad better watch his step. Mam ain't going to be happy having to drive all the way over there to a foreign country. They can be tailgatin' with the other Bastrop parents enjoy the best Louisiana has to offer. Including a great education for their son and preparation for the NFL. LSU is well represented in the NFL.
Son Has respect for his Dad. But, he will never break his Mama's heart.
So, it would probably be best if everyone that is propagating all the negative shite to walk over to the fridge, get a cold beer, sit down and relax. Your making an arse of yourself.
Mr. Randle will sign with the Tigers tomorrow.
Mama wins out. Or ole Pops goes for a long dry spell. If In the small chance that I am wrong, Wish him well and then be nothing but excited about the great guys we will be getting tomorrow. Sitting around bitching about it only show disrespect for the guys we have coming. I for one am Excited about the quality of talent these guys bring with them. It can only get better once they are here.
Mr. Randle,
Listen to Mama. She won't guide you wrong.
Welcome to LSU!
