Considering they "committed" to their former school at some point, that seems about as contradictory as you can get.

Let me help.

People are “committed” to their job until a much better, potentially life changing offer comes along.

You're going to hold coaches to the exact same standard right?

I swear I can't think of many things more embarrassing than the grown arse men who come on here and whine and cry about the fact that college-aged kids want to maximize their earning potential. It's especially dorky when they act like using earning potential as a decisionmaking factor is somehow immoral, as though it's not literally at the very top of the list--if not being the whole list by itself--for every single one of us whenever we get a job offer.

Do you guys get this upset when your friends switch jobs?

From a players perspective, the portal is the best thing in awhile and it’s fair.

From a programs perspective, it’s a massive fricking headache and probably a logistical nightmare trying to keep depth on your roster

The college sports that we all loved are gone unless NIL is reined in. As it stands, these are all professionals now and the concept of the student-athlete should be abandoned. Sad to see but it’s reality and college is no different than the NFL now.

LOL, no. People are "working" until they feel they no longer want to compete.... then it's off somewhere else.

Instead of "committed" these announcements should say "HIRED"

Chip Kelly is right.

Football should be divorced from the rest of college sports and all D-1 CFB teams should be "independents" with the traditional conference system for the other sports.

This is the dumbest complaint every year. It’s a term that’s been around and the kid didn’t make up, don’t take it so literally.
