I think he's going to be good.

He looked slow at camp
Posted on 7/6/18 at 5:59 am to LSUOverEveryTeam
Hes been told to look around

He’s out. 7 scholarships are left after Starks commitment.

Let him walk and go get Harris. Then all out for Dean

5.0 and 5.1 40's, looked out of shape and slow to react. It was all they needed to see to tell him to move on. We will only take 2 ILB this class in McCallum and Starks unless they get someone like Dean on board. Don't think there's any room for Harris.

Main focus should be DL. Can’t go all in with Sopsher and have him go elsewhere like that groupie surtain

Who else we get, in your opinion? If he leaves, that gives us 7 scholarships left.
Sophser (doubt we get him)
Lee
Parker
Cain
Palmer
Who else are we pushing for? I know another corner.

Sopsher
Lee
Palmer
Cain/Emery
Harris
Another DL
Another DB
Crap forgot about Parker. I'd say replace him with a DB since I think we're fine there.

They want these LA kids for sure:
Sophser
Lee
Palmer
Parker [Academic ? marks]
Cain/Emery
Then looking like another DL/pass rusher perhaps and DB.

It does appear that four linebackers are one too many, but where has this been stated? Can you link it or cite it? Or is this just another Rant "He said it and he repeated it so it must be true?"

On 247 with those guys at the camp, they saw his performance, and in many different times said they dont expect him to be part of the class, their nice way of saying he was told to head elsewhere.

That every service lists as OLB.
Posted on 7/6/18 at 11:39 am to BigSlick
That is still a different position than Inside Linebacker.

Which isn't...ILB? Not sure why you originally mentioned him among ILB

Because I didn't notice "ILB" in the original post.:

He will play both positions at LSU. He's going to play the run OLB, pass rush as a safety and cover as a safety. Basically he'll be on the field from 1st down to 3rd and long.
People don't understand that these coaches recruit these players for down and distance as well as base packages. But your base package will change as the opponents strength changes. That's why I don't gripe when we get 3* players. The staff saw something in that player which can be used on a certain down and distance or have a strength they like and can be valuable on every down.
You do that for 3 to 4 years while also landing the guys who are deemed "ready now" players and you have quality depth on your roster. I would much prefer to land a guy who has most of the tools needed to play, develop the rest in your system then not land one at all. At the same time, I wouldn't go out and get a body for the hell of it. He must have the size, strength, quickness, speed, balance and agility or most of those to perform. You don't want a roster full of those types of players but a few here or there who could develop or be valuable at a certain time in the game, get him.
They make sure he has something they can work with, use or develop into. It's not always a perfect system of players in the beginning but you work your way to that. You show other players that this is what we've done for this guy, just think what we can do for you. Build a reputation at your current school and they will have no reason not to believe in you.
That's where we at now. We are still working toward that with some players or positions and some have already bought in. We need our DL and entire front seven to really dominate this year to really turn some heads. I think we will do that but we shall see.
