Yeah he'll likely either be a backup or transfer. Hard to think they go hard on Underwood if Hurley is that guy.
Underwood seems to be the guy once Nuss is gone unless another transfer comes in.

A lot of Bama fans thought the same about Milroe when he was recruited. He was a raw athlete there for QB room depth. Ty Simpson was the 5-star, supposed heir apparent. Do any of you see Milroe being dislodged from that job anytime soon?
It is more likely that things play out according to the rankings, but sometimes injuries happen, other guys develop faster, one guy is a better fit with your personnel, etc. That’s why good coaching staffs take shots on guys with high upside in these “in-between” classes. And with the portal, you have to keep bringing them in, because they won’t sit more than 2, maybe 3 seasons before leaving to potentially start somewhere else.

The difference is Hurley is not a DT QB that can use his athleticism until his passing skills evolve. That's what Milroe has done. No one knows how this shakes out, but Hurley could be in the same situation as Walker Howard when he was here.

If Sloan and Denbrock still want him then that’s all I need to know.

I’ll trust Sloan and Denbrock’s judgment of this kid over the idiots on here already writing him off. Just because he doesn’t have perfect stats in high school doesn’t mean he won’t have a chance to improve and become a good college QB

You go hard on both if they are that guy.
You go hard on anyone that is that good; if they are that guy. Throw in McIntyre too.
These guys will break your heart.
Underwood could pull the rug out after he commits to LSU. You don’t drop contact with anyone, and then call the other guy the day that on3 reports that Underwood dropped you.
You stay in contact with them always and ask them to step aboard once that happens.

I’m not equating their skill sets. Just their situations. There have been plenty of times that the QB with less hype takes the job and the other guy sits or transfers out. Bama and UGA (with their last two starting QBs) are both prime examples of this.
I’m also not just referencing Hurley, either. Many have already written off Collins, who IS more of an athlete who also has raw arm talent. He’s the type who could end up being really good if he works hard and develops under what seems to be a really strong staff here.

Just look at this way, Bryce will have come and gone, drafted #1 QB , and Colin will still be a 19yr old RSS ready to take the reigns lol, I think Bryce is also a early entrant he’s a 26 recruit, moved up to 25.
I don’t care about Colin’s stats, or age
There is no way with his Maturity, IQ, work effort, and Loyalty to LSU that he can’t be anything but a POSITIVE for this Football program!

He has a ton of upside. He reminds me of Bryce Young. At Bama of course
Bryce Young was extremely accurate in HS. Something you really can't teach past a certain age. Different story with Hurley.

I'm not really a Hurley fan, but this is just not true. Accuracy can definitely be coached, we see QB's accuracy improve dramatically all the time. Look at Josh Allen. Heck, look at Jayden.

13.3 yards per completion means he's pushing it down the field.
