A&M has RARELY done well when we start a year off rated highly...like i said, I want to see 2-3 GOOD seasons in a row before I'll feel like we belong in the conversation.

their success has nothing to do with them joining the SEC this year. They would still have sumlin as their coach, a heisman winning qb, and probably be 11-1, if not undefeated if they had stayed in the big 12.

JFF wouldn't have won the heisman without the Bama win. Big 12-2-2+2 doesn't make the papers like it use to.

SEC helps, but so does having 10 wins and a Heisman winner. I agree as another battered aggie. the last 2 years that we went 9-4, we followed then up with 7-6 seasons. Tannehill was the QB in the 2010 season, returned and had a heartbreaking season primarily due to defensive backfield depth IMO.

Yeah, it's been a while since a Big XII Qb won the Heisman

Only 2 of the last 4 years.

ETA: A&M is going to do well in the SEC. People thinking they just got lucky with JFF are not looking at the big picture. Sherman recruited some good talent, now they have a coach to take it to the next level, that plus joining the SEC has given them a lot of momentum.
